This is one of only eight prototypes ever produced during the group B era. The Group S programme was scrapped following the banning of Group B rally cars and before the MR2 could be used in rally competition.

I'm pretty sure Toyota only made three rally cars, or is it that only three survive two black and one white, the white one lives in Toyota's museum
Mk1b White T-bar SC 1987, Mk1b White coupe Jan90, Mk1b White coupe Jan90 (spares), Mk1b Mica blue T-bar Mar90, Mk1b Mica blue T-bar,full climate control,Jan90, 5 mk1's :)

Does anyone have any information about the Fritzinger Motorsport MR2 (the white and green wide arched rally car).

I noticed that the car is being driven by Klaus Fritzinger or at least has his name on the side. Does anyone know what engine is being used and whether the body kit still available?

I'm going to build a replica of the group B car one day.

I reckon you'd get a few people interested in buying the bodykit if you did :thumleft:

Well i'd take moulds off every panel i made, which would all have to be handmade as well. I've already found a source for the light units and the harder to replicate bits. So building a low powered replica would be fairly easy after the panels are done.

The car i build would probably be 3s-gte powered or 2gr-fe powered as i doubt i'd be able to replicate the original Group B engines.

The 4wd would be easy and doable with Toyota parts bin bits, but I can't make a group B engine from nothing so would need to be the next best thing.

I think just pulling off something that just looks the same is a huge enough ask, but I reckon I could do 4wd and a big powerplant too.

I somehow don't think it actually shares many mechanical or body parts with a standard AW11 !

I saw that car in the flesh at JAE2005 i think it was, it's just a mock up that is only capable of 30mph, mostly balsa wood etc...
