Hi Guys,
few years back my HG popped and it was replacecd by the garage i bought it from. They invoiced a whole gasket set, so everything from the HG to the zorst manifold gasket (which appears to be made from metal)
Now i understand the orginal Rev1 HG was pap and made from paper, my question is was this something Toyota later revised? or if i was to purchase a OEM Rev1 Headgasket from Toyota would it still be made from paper?
Thanks
My headgasket change

If you are going to change the head gasket again just use a REV3 one, its all metel.

Why are you changing the gasket again while its fine?
Anyway, how about going SLIGHTLY higher compression ratio with a TRD or something HG?

Re: My headgasket change
Perhaps i was a little unclear.
My headgasket change was refering to the one i had done when i bought the car. Im not planning to change unless it pops.
My question was if the garage who changed it went with an OEM Rev1 HG from MR T is it still made from the same pap it was 20 years ago or is this something Toyota recognised and changed?

You mean the garage fitted you a new head gasket but failed to fit you a new timing belt? What a crappy service they gave you.
While your having the timing belt done, replace the water pump
