I've got an mot test at 1 o'clock and my handbrake light has just started staying on even when the handbrake is down.
What could be the cause?
Cheers guys

Rear caliper siezed on maybe?
Check if the car will move back and forth by pushing it with the bandbrake off.
If it's solid, chances are its siezed. Jack the car up, wheel off, remove caliper, wind piston back and forth until it's moving freely again. You'll really need to consider a rebuild-kit though.
Handbrakes on MR2's are crap, you're best just sticking it in gear, and leave the hadbrake off.

Re: URGENT ANSWERS NEEDED
Be nothing to do with the brakes being jammed. Check the switch on the handbrake, or maybe fluid level, not sure if the same warning light illuminates for that as well.

Re: URGENT ANSWERS NEEDED
are you sure its the hand brake light and not the brake fluid warning light???
Re: URGENT ANSWERS NEEDED
+1 check the black plug down the side of the handbrake lever, this controls the dash light, if your stuck you could just pull the plug and hope the mot tester does'nt spot that that the dash light isnt illuminated.
Not sure if they even check for this on mot's

Re: URGENT ANSWERS NEEDED
usually handbrake light being on shows the brake fluid as low, check that, easy to do. If not might be the switch under the handbrake is jammed.
Re: URGENT ANSWERS NEEDED
it's the switch under the handbrake which is playing up.
