Imaculate Black MR2-T-top Turbo for sale *Now £3000*

Post by Aimson »

Well I think the time has come to move onto my next project after a couple of years and over 6k spent I’m slowly getting itchy feet for something else. So here we are I’m putting her up for sale only due to wanting something else to blow my time and money on.
I have spent a great deal of time and money on this car and I’m looking for what I feel is a fair price for the modifications and condition of the car so here we go.
The car is a MR2 Turbo T-top in black 76,000 Miles with the following modifications:
17” Alloys With new tyres all round
Two tone full leather seats with embroidered MR2 logo at the top in grey and black
Full stainless steel duel Berk exhaust with extreme boost downpipe
HKS Fuel Cut defence
Greedy Turbo (according to my tuner)
HKS Mushroom style air filter
Greddy Profec B boost controller
Man in dandism t-top
Momo GTR 2 steering wheel
Upgraded sound system all speakers replaced with better ones and a pioneer head unit with ipod connectivity
Clifford Alarm
Clear front indicators
I have also had many many items changed in the engine for maintenance which I have receipts for all of these, I can quite confidently say that you won’t find many if any REV 2 Turbos in such a great condition such as this one.
It is currently running 276 BHP and 325lbs of Torque with dyno sheets to prove, boost is strong with no smoke or knocking.
It also has 12 Months tax and 7 months MOT, previous MOT went through with no advisories.
Bad points:
Slight bullet dent in driver door only noticeable in certain light/angle
I had the spoiler re-sprayed as the paint was slightly bubbling; this seems to be coming back again although hardly noticeable unless you anal like me.
I’m looking for £3000 for the car unfortunately no less due to the time money and effort gone into making this car what it is, so if you are looking for a great condition turbo with piece of mind that everything is in working order then this is the car for you.
I would be open to PX deal if you have an RX7 :O)
I have some pictures on my profile and information of work and modifications carried out, I will be posting more up to date pictures on this thread shortly.

If you have any questions or require further information please ask. :thumleft:

325lb of torque? Really?

I think you'll be hard pressed to get any where near £4k for that I'm afraid buddy. This time last year I sold a Rev2 Turbo with more done to it that that for not much more than half that. Sadly people just don't want pre-rev3 cars unless they're on a very tight budget.

Have you considered selling some of the things off it seperately, like the exhaust, wheels, seats & boos controller. All easily swapped off for OE parts and all are sought after parts.

Yeah it has that power with dyno run to prove, I may consider breaking but I would be after almost new prices as they are all less than two months old #-o

I know the price is steep but you get what you pay for and everything is how it should be, there are plently of dogs out there which would go for less but not this one.

Nice car, but I fear the previous post is correct, you would struggle at the moment to sell a stunning example of a rev3 or 4 tubby at that price. I hate to see 2's get broken but you'll never make the money back on your mods even if sold seperately you will only get half what they are worth. If I were you i'd keep the 2, as the numbers diminish i think they will start to rise in price so maybe in 5 years you could get that sort of price.

I don't really mean break it, just swap the parts back to standard and sell seperately. It's a lovely car, there's no doubt, and seperately I'm sure people often spend that money (mine probably owed me £10k by the time I sold it) but for what ever reason, no one would buy a ready modded car at that price.

That torque figure is crazy, never seen torque so high relative to the bhp.

Yep I'm currently looking for a 2 and I think the price is a little high. People ideally want a rev3 or possibly rev 4 for that money.

Modifications don't make alot of difference to the price i'm afraid. You have to be prepared to lose money if you're going to mod.

Too right mate. Its all the dogs out there which make the marque appear so cheap. Granted prices have been pushed down with the financial climate, but thats a gorgeous car and if its half the car you say it is, someone will eventually take it. Unfortunately like any niche specialist car, youre going to have to wait for that 'right' person to come along.

best of luck mate,

The problem isn't really your car being overpriced at £3k, it's that there are rev3+ cars for similar money. I had exactly the same issues you did when I sold my rev2. I find it sad as a mildly modded rev2 is going to be quicker than a rev3 any way ](*,)

Best thing to do is hold onto it mate if you can afford to. As the financial climate improves, banks start lending and people have more confidence, people will start to spend on luxuries again such as stupid fast two seater jap sports cars. Prices will rise as will demand, especially as over the last year so many haev been broken up.

I'd snap your hand off for this car if I didnt have the remains of mine still. I'm looking for something no so complete adn basic as I want to move most things from my car onto that. Only choice as if you think selling your car is hard, you should try sellingone accident damaged!

Once again, best of luck with the sale (or continued ownership?)
