Not Another Scottish Newbie!

Post by Rab555 »

yea, 'fraid so. Got my MR2 a few months ago, most of the modifications had been done by the previous owner. I wasn't planning on ever owning an MR2, but since my scoob was written off I was left without choice as I picked it up for very almost nothing.

Spent a couple of grand on it so far probably, including a full service, timing belt kit, pink coolant, good oil etc etc. I also had to replace the master/slave cylinders, water pump, and lots of other small bits and pieces, tyres too, couldn't forget those.

Anyway since getting all the major parts replaced I took it over to AVA in glasgow for a power run and came out with 145bhp at the wheels, which is, as far as i've been told quite good for an almost standard 1993 2.0l gt

On the outside since owning it, i've painted the wheels & bump strips etc black, these were all silver before, including the bit below the boot! Also added the mr2 badge and sunstrip. Not sure what to do now....

this was the scooby before being t-boned by a blind cow in an astra..

Hapnin J!

Cheers folks, I'm almost happy with how it looks now just still not feelin the front bumper. Was offered a set of rev3 lights but I think the standard 2s look better :)

how much should I expect to pay for a set of leather seats?

MR2 just arrived (scoob had been stripped down for assesor coming to see it lol)

Image

Spec = bought it as a standard 2.0l NON-TURBO sport, spent a mint getting it to sti replica status and just before tubby goes in, along with brakes, running gear etc etc....it was mangled  that was my first car. So in short, it was slow...looked good for its age tho!

and yea I had 2 massive bottles of funny gas on the parcel shelf, some of the looks I used to get from cars behind were priceless lol. The bottle i've got in the MR2 aint big enough to put on display yet.

Welcome to the club :thumleft:

Nice to have another scottish member, seem to be heaps joining just now which is great 8)

Check out the for sale section if you are looking for some seats, might be some in there. If not maybe try some of the affiliates on this site, some of them have a good selection of bits and bobs.

I had some really nice Recaros in my MR2 :thumleft:

Can't see them that well here though..
