Bedford Autodrome 12th Dec, anyone going?

Post by Rustyracing »

Hiya,

Just caught Javelin's latest mailer, and I'm tempted with their Bedford Autodrome trackday on the 12th Dec 09.

http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/jt/in ... t&Itemid=2

I notice a few MR2's already signed up, just wondering if its anyone from here.

Also, anybody else interested?
£120 for a full day's open pit at Bedford's full GT circuit sounds like a great deal.

Ta,
RR

That'll be a few of us from ROC (including me and my brother in the 350Zs and Mark in the VXR), you're more than welcome to join us if you like!

Cheers Ekona, I'm now booked on this so will look out for you when i get there.

Its a fair distance for me so I think I'll be bringing the car up on a trailer. Although with a 3 - 4 hr journey and needing to be there around 8 - 8:30 its going to an early one. So forgive me if I'm a little grouchy before I find a coffee shop! ;)

Ha ha, sweet.

Although, slight change of plan now. I realised my first plan would involve getting up at 3:30am & trailering for 200 miles even before the trackday, thought sod that, and will now be coming up friday night and staying at a B&B 10 mins away from the track.

Do it!
Your MR2 will love you for it

Bedford looks like a very soft entry into trackdays too, to its credit.

I'm not much beyond a novice myself and quite like the idea that it uniquely has no crash barriers to hit if you go off.

It is indeed a very good place for beginners, so much run off and the tarmac is very wide as well. It's also flat so you can get a good idea of where the next corner is which is handy when you're just starting out too.

Go on, come along! :D

I did bedford for the first time recently and whilst It's pretty forgiving the GT circuit has a lot of corners and not a lot in the way of landmarks so learning where the track goes takes a while before you can even start to learn how hard you can push.

Good to meet you yesterday RR :thumleft: Great day all round really, just a shame about the changeable track conditions as it meant getting a decent rhythm became a bit of a challenge!

You too mate, hopefully catch up with you again

Yeah, that pit straight corner was particularly iffy every time due to changeable grip.

Although I was absolutely loving that last session when it pi$$ed it down. Was already out on track for it and stayed out till the red flag cos I was loving the way it brought the rest of the field downwards to my level. Or lower in some cases.

Hope the guy with the VXR got his car home ok.
