Mk1 on Wheeler Dealers

Post by dylbie »

According to my Sky TV Guide, Wheeler Dealers has an MR2 Mk1 on next Tuesday (24th Nov) at 8pm.

I really should get out more!

That actual car was for sale a couple of weeks ago not far from me. Was up at around £850

When was this first shown, must be 3-4 years ago now?

Also who really believes they found a mint front wing painted the right colour in a scrap yard?

The show is a few years old now. I didn't know you got it out in yank land.

Are you a Mk1 owner/enthusiast? If so, get some pictures up of your MK1!
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

I actually watched all the episodes on Youtube, but I did watch the show while living in England. I spent 8 years in England (Harrogate, Ripon, and Sandy).
MR2's that I have owned in the past:
E-Reg Blue MK1 (UK Spec)
1987 MK1 Red (US Spec)
1991 MKII Green (US Spec)

Currently own a 1987 Red T-bar MK1 (US Spec)

I will post some photos this evening when I get home from work.

Thanks for your comments.

Wheeler Dealer's did an 8v RHD Integrale, and almost all of the parts and advice came from a friend's business in Reading; the work shown on the final edit was nothing compared to what they actually had to do, the list was absolutely massive as they'd bought a very, very poor example in the first instance. Edd and Dave spent hours on the phone to my friend, gleaning advice on how best to patch the Integrale up, and the cost of the parts, as shown on the programme, was NOTHING compared to what they actually paid.

Still, it makes good television and I can probably say that I've seen almost every single episode. In fact, I watched quite a few on Discovery on Christmas day!! :D
