Hi.
I have a 92 rev 2 turbo, 70,000miles, xs downpipe, apexi filter, blitz nur spec, and std plugs. Recently ive been experiencing a loss of power, so yesterday i decided to remove my ebc to see wot boost pressure im running std and it read 11.7 on boost gauge. Is this normal?
Also sometimes when im driving hard, it sometimes feels like im being held back, (as if the handbrake is on), although at full boost. Any suggestions?

I would check for fault codes, and check all the ignition bits, plugs, leads, dizzy cap etc.

hi. i checked for fault codes and none stored. Also, on a drive this afternoon, with the evc set to 11.7psi, i hit 18. Something is wrong!!!!!

Check the piping around the actuator for cracks or coming loose. If its boosting that much though it should feel much quicker in the mid range so thats somewhat confusing...

You will be getting knock at that boost so the ECU will be backing off timing droping power to save the engine.

should knock we stored as an error?

No it is just part of the ECU control

Hiya
The knock sensor is most certainly part of the ecu control and will be damaged where high knock levels kill it, but at 18psi there will be no knock. The lack of power is as a result of high boost but because the map sensor has maxed out and the ecu has flooding the engine with petrol. However 18psi is not good for your standard head gasket. You will only see a knock warning light when the sensor is foobed.
