Activity Day - North Weald - 23/10 - MK1B content

Post by iansumuk »

Hello, it has been a long long time since I've been on here. No longer do I own an MR2 - I moved to the Smart Roadster Brabus and then the Lotus Elise.

On Friday I was at an activity day at North Weald. Lots of fun.

I took a load of pictures, amongst them is a Super-Charged MR2 MK1B. A member on here I believe:

I have loads more on request.

Do they still have the moto cross track at North Weald? It used to be off the side of the airfield and you could see the jumps etc from the airfield.

In my youth I used to be a member and practised on my bike there many times on a Sunday.

The runway must have been resurfaced since I was there (1990?) because it was rough and scabby the last time I saw it.

I've no idea, I didn't see a moto cross track though. HGV lessons were being conducted there at the same time. Seems the place is divided into 3, a Car Limits area, a HGV area, and then a small runway for light aircraft.

The surfaces seemed fine to me, although I suspect there must have been diesel on the high speed bend as I lost it twice :-k

Hi iansumuk,

Are you the one I spoke to with a previous concourse show car (MR2)?

T'was me at the North weald Fun Day with LoT.
It was a jolly good day.
My first events since my refurbed brakes and suspensions been sorted out and recent new HG set!
Nice to to keep up with the Elise boys...probably in the straight only!
t seems my lack traction on the fast bend was probably due to low rear tyre pressure (26 PSI!!).
I also need the tracking and alignment sorted out....also there is a small crack in the manifold which will need welding and tne Vernier pulleys to put on.......a few more tweeks before the Bedford track day withEasytrack on the 21st Nov.

That was me. I remembered I'd still got an account on here.

And this was my old 21 year old (at the time) mk1a.
