Hi all,
Can't seem to find the answer on 'search'. (However, I found an article previously, but now I cant find it again!! )
As time moves on, the rear light become cloudy looking. Are there any tips on how to restore their clear, shiny nature?
I read somewhere that using 'Autosol' worked, but I thought that Autosol is abrasive
Any help?
Thanks,
Chris.

you want an abrasive product to get the shine back, I used to have an FTO and the owners club recommend using wet and dry on the headlights as they go over time too. I didnt go that extreme, but used a professional paint restoring product like t-cut and some elbow grease and mine came up mint, not done the mr2's rears yet, but is on the list.

T cut followed by wax

That's due to the lacquer starting to peel on the FTO headlights.
That's a bit different to the dullness of the MR2 rear lights

g3 compound > polish > wax
that will remove all the cloudyness and give a great shine

Thanks you guys.
I've got some Autosol in the shed (I'm assuming its the same stuff that we use to polish our exhausts?!), so I'll go and give it a go now.
Got an hour spare before I go out for a meal with the girlfriend tonight.

There's a guy with an FTO in my street, I know what you mean about the headlights!!! IIt really looks like something is peeling off rather than a general cloudyness! Either way, they look a mess now!

I didn't try any of the other tips as I had some Autosol in the shed, but I'm sure that they work too.
This forum has done it again!...Thanks guys!!

Nice Job mate
Have to say I have tried Autosol & T cut on mine both worked ok, then I found this .....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MEGUIARS-PLASTRX- ... 286.c0.m14
Its easier than using Autosol & the shine lasts longer

i cant post the link since im at work, but if you go to
mr2oc.com then click on Paint and bodywork. And one of the stickys will be "how to polish your taillights the right way" or something on those line.
im in the process of doing it myself and its turning out great. oh, and instead of taking them to a pro for the clear coat, i did it myself and it still looks good. just have to make sure you do very light costs, or the lacquar will crack.
