[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev Counter

Post by royashmr2 »

Has anyone got there standard rev counter to work with minimal cables connected.

I put live and neg to the dash and a signal wire. When I put the signal wire from the ecu onto the clocks it trys to kill the engine. So i didn't do it again.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Any helps is appreciated

sounds iffy mate.

The rev counter runs off a pulsed feed from the ignitor. Its a small black wire on the back of the clocks that it should be feeding to. Is the feed coming from your ECU?

I have my own loom in the car. So no little black wire anymore.

I have come off the ecu but the wire into the ecu is the same one that goes to the ignitor. Then there is an earth wire.

I'm thinking of just sinking an 80mm defi into the dash.

Yeah I'm toying with a custom dash too. Have got a halfway point now. Managed to get a sequential shift light to read off the feed I have. Moves too bloody quick to take notice of though so was a pretty pointless exercise lol

You got that start button installed yet? I did mine at the weekend, and they're uber cool! Love it!

if your still using the stock ignitor then you can still take the reading from there.

CFAU is right its the smaller black wire that feeds the dash from the ignitor plug.
