just wondering how i can check if my car has limited slip diff?

why do you want to know? will you change it if it hasn't?

the code is on the vin plate in the front, post what you see.

I was told the fun way to check this is give it some beans and burn some rubber then get out and check your freshly left tyre marks. If you have 2 marks then you have LSD, 1 mark then No LSD

Jack the back of the car up so both rear wheels are off the ground. Turn one of the rear wheels by hand, if the other rotates in the same direction, you have an LSD.

The above doesnt work however for purely mechanical diffs, but does work for viscous and clutch plate type diffs.

easiest and simplest way is as said above, go to a car park somewhere and light em up
you'll know for sure then.

rev 1/2 it was optional extra . rev 3 comes as standard . (on tubbys)

Could also have an aftermarket one fitted. God knows what them crazy guys over in japan have done to our cars before shipping them over lol

you'd know if it had an lsd fitted by the feel of it, if you cant tell then there is no point knowing imo.

That doesn't work with all types of LSD though.

That doesn't work with all types of LSD though.

Which is what I said above, it doesn't work for purely mechanical, i.e. helical diffs, like torsen and quaife ATB style diffs.

VERY simple to find out if it is LSD or not just spin up in a straight line in the wet if back end kicks out to left or right then no lsd if it goes straight then it has LSD lol well thats how i tested it lol with my rev2 i had and my rev3 i have now lol

not on a roundabout you cant.. but a fair point you made there..!!
give it some gas on a bend/roundabout and look for the 2 tyre marks..

I have an aftermarket diff in and my back end steps out a little when I spin up but it keeps the car in a straight line
