Alan are you a mindreader or something??? That's just freaked me out! I was looking at Focus rear diffusers a while back with the intention of building one into my bumper , great minds and all that :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Along similar lines - how about an elise/exige diffuser?

I am also interested to see how the filling of the exterior lines looks on your car.

I've filled in the swage lines before on a Mk1 and it makes them look very sleek and uncluttered.

The project continued today and i decided to take a break from the bodywork and spend a little time on the interior. First job was to weld my rollcage in permanently... i also got my seats fitted (i still have people telling me they don't believe i fit in this car and it's driveable!)

You can see i have had to chop down the centre console, just removed 2" of it to make it fit, more proof that this is all i have had to steal from the cabin to fit the V8, it's just at the top of the new firewall that it looks like 8" because of the original firewall gradient. I've also made a new cubby box between the seats, again a chopped down version... aw cute!

So i'm pretty happy with how the interior is going to be, although it still needs work.

A quick look at what i'm planning for the indicator lenses here, i made these years ago but never got around to fitting them, they are not the usual clear lenses you will notice, i converted some driving lights that are exactly the same size as a Mk1 indicator/sidelight unit, these lenses fit into the plastic housing that held the old lens, so it will all bolt up to the bumper bar as normal. The inside will have a separator so it will have an orange bulb on one side and a clear sidelight bulb on the other.

The foglights i have planned for the bumper... i was after some JDM motorized flip lid ones but they are super rare.

I thought i'd stick my two pride and joys next to each other for a bit of a comparison pic, the red car is my minty stock Mk1, nothing more than Lenso Samurai wheels/Yokohama rubber and dropped 30mm, everything else is standard. This really gives a good persective of how extreme this Mk1 V8 is...

Both cars will be at JAE this year.

lovely minter you have there - like the alloys.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you've done with the V8 car 'in the metal'.

Cheers, believe it or not every single part on the minter is brand new from Toyota, every single component, even every nut and bolt is new, only bits of my interior are from the original car.

Really looking forward to getting the V8 into some paint now, i keep changing my mind on the colour which is giving me a headache right now.

I've done the interior black with white trimmings, so i'm leaning towards Audi R8 white now instead of silver.

Have a look at the Ford Frozen White Paul. Cass has sprayed her MK2 in that colour and it's a really nice bright white. :thumleft:

A few side by side reference shots... really shows how aggressively styled the 8 is.

The carbon blade is missing from the V8's rear spoiler.

Looking good Paul :thumleft:

Although the std number plate holder looks a little odd as the rest of the car is so modified :-k

I think you need a custom job :D

I love your mint one, I was looking at wheels like that for mine, they look sweet on yours. I can't wait to see the V8 in person, I keep telling people I know about it and they barely belive it's possible

Bank holiday Monday means only one thing, V8 time! I got stuck into the bodywork, not a lot you can appreciate in the pics here but it's just general de-dinting work and flush blending.
