Long way to go G, but the fact that it's hung, the seats will fit and the drivehshaft arrangement will work means its all little things from here on in.The priority is getting the strength back into the chassis where i have had to remove sections.

Considering the changes you are making to the rear structure, how will the 'authorities' view this one? Will it have to be SVA'd?

Personally, I think it's pretty damn cool!

Cheers

Cheers, but the idea itself of using the audi v8 and transmission is not mine, mikeH in the US has a mk2 with this engine already in it and one or our TB members PaulM is fitting the same combo to a mk3... all i can really claim is being the first to try it on a mk1 which is slightly harder due to space restrictions.

All good fun though ay! :thumleft:

You're not wrong there toni! Im going to have to pay special attention to the cooling side of things, the car already has a passenger side engine bay vent grafted in so that's a start.Im also ripping out the standard rad pipes and going one size bigger, might also fit two rads instead of one.

Looking forward to see it finished.

On a side note Paul, two of your previous conversions were on the rollers at the weekend and made excellent power -

Pete Kyte's (now belongs to me ) Mk1 SC conversion - 180bhp
Richard Brett's Mk1 V6 conversion - 200bhp
Red MR2 Mk1a - Rose SOLD
Blue MR2 SC conversion 180 bhp - Lightning

omracing - so its you who got petes s/c! when i saw it advertised, i asked him about it, and it had already been provisionally sold. I was hoping whoever had said they'd buy it would not find the cash...but alas..he hit me back and told me it had then sold :(
