Virgin!

Post by punkrockscreech »

Hey guys.....I recently bought an MR2 GT-Tbar, really pleased with it as a weekend car. Just had it serviced 160 miles ago, full plugs and filters change, etc etc. Since having it serviced i have noticed that when i stop there is a smell of burning oil, on opening the bonnet there is a small trail of dark grey smoke coming from beneath where the manifold bolts to the engine. Typically this is quite inaccesible to view and i presume its coming from lower than this? This wasn't there before the service. when the engine is turned off smoke continues to rise from this area, for maybe a minute or two.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
Steve.

it might be some oil thats spilt down the engine and is burning off... let it run for a while and see if it goes away...if not maybe a seal thats gone?

Thats what i figured but its done 160 miles and still doing it, its not leaving any oil on the floor under it though, or would this be because the the exhaust is preventing the oil reaching the floor?
