Sounds good to me. Can only drive as fast as the brakes and corners. Two fast cars a particular circuit. Two drivers. Staying alive could well be a restraint to using a machines full capacity.
The fastest machine still has a human driver with a lot of hazards to contend with - as described. Though it does sound like he was comfortable with your skill at driving and following the course. Good go - great event.

The black one was the pick of the bunch.
In the corners and under braking an Ultima would leave any MR2 for dead imo.
I got taken round a race track in the wet in an Ultima last year.
I have only twice in my life got out of a car lost for words. That was one of them.
