What colour glass tint for UK rev1 n/a?

Post by HighwayStar »

Afternoon all, hope somebody out there can help me...
I picked up a chip in the windscreen over the w/e which has a small crack running through it. It might be repairable but the glass co want to bring out a replacement screen so they can change it if it's beyond help. Trouble is they have 4 possible colours listed. 2 have a darker 'visor' strip across the top so pretty sure I don't want one of those. The other plain colours are either blue or green. Fairly sure one applies to UK cars whilst the other is for imports but I don't know which way round it is. Can anybody help please?
The car is a UK n/a mk2 rev1.
Thx

UK are blue and the imports are brown.

Or at least my rev1 (fe) was a blue tinted and my turbos have both been brown.

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

If they change it make sure they fit the correct seal/rubber, the one with the channel to make water go up on to the roof when moving. A smooth/flat one will let water onto the door window when driving, with window open slightly water will pi$$ in all over the switches on the door card. Very very annoying ! I learnt the hard way mate, be warned

All done and I now have a lovely new, perfectly clear and clean screen. It's a bit odd being able to see so much! Guy was here and gone in 75 mins, correct screen and rubber, knew what he was doing and got on with it. Cost me £60 for the excess so not too bad on the wallet either. The last time I had a chip repaired a couple of years ago it cost 75% of that!
Thx again for the help guys.
