I Need a Bodyshop to make a custom body kit

Post by Greddy-Matt »

Hi Guys
I need to get hold of a bodyshop capable of making / sculpting a custom body kit for my MKII, does anyone know one that does this sort of thing? Most places I've tried don't want to get involved or only do paint or insurance / quick fix type work.

Kind Regards

Have you tried AVC Customs in Romsey
http://www.avc-customs.co.uk/index.asp

I think Millway in Andover used to do some strange stuff with body kits/ body work
http://www.vehicle-specialists.co.uk/Mi ... epairs.htm

There is an old dude in the New Forest (Lymington I think) who does real propper coach building using an English Wheel to shape a flat bit of metal cant remeber his name have texted my dad....

Premier Auto Bodies do custom body work, but they are in Manchester
http://www.premierautobodies.co.uk/custom.php

Or here
http://www.autofashion.co.uk/project_cars.htm

When you say custom do you mean from scratch building a complete kit design and all? Sounds like fun \:D/

Dude I have a 80% complete design for a glass engine lid- not got round to making anything yet (i cant see the point in showing off my dirty engine) if its of interest give me a PM

Cheers

check out the classic and custom car mags ... you'll probably find a few places in that type of mag that can do it ... no guarantee they'd be local though.

if you have anything done custom or a restoration place with the skills to wheel panels it is nt going to be cheap,i used to work doing restoration work and making panels

you ll be talking thousands to have custom work done or panels wheeled

used to make qtr panels from sheet steel for aston martins making the panel took about 35hours and not cheap labour!

It's using an existing fibreglass bodykit, just not one designed for an MR2, so It'll need substantial modification. I don't think there will be much fabrication from scratch. Hopefully!
