Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Slightly mad I/C installation
mad indeed
cant see it being that efficient though
seems he is just using the aerodynamics to suck the hot air out rather than having any actual air flow to it

Awesome dude! Rather have a phoenix power boot mount though.
Question i've often pondered: Does it matter if an intercooler gets wet? I.E
exposure to the elements like rain etc?

To a certain amount, I think it does. I know water is a better conductor of heat, but only when that water is being continously circulated and cooled as it would in a charge cooled system. If the water is left on the intercooler, would the water not act as an insulator against the air cooling?
Oh and yes, that's one mad intercooler

if it was a problem, then nobody would run big open grille cars with front mount intercoolers.

Wetness makes it better! Mitsi and Subaru have intercooler water sprays on some of their Evos and Imprezas.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Slightly mad I/C installation
it would look cool if it had a modded elise style engine lid with a roof scoop directing air to the IC.
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Slightly mad I/C installation
Any reason why it won't work?
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Slightly mad I/C installation
I have often wondered if a long thin IC, under the rear spoiler would work....
Saw some kind of cooling radiator like that on one of the classic rally Audi's

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Slightly mad I/C installation
Surely it will work, it's just a case of it could be so much more effecient if it had a direct airflow through it?
