[Mk2] [Generic] Carbon boot and lifter

Post by oBladeo »

How do people keep there carbon fiber boot open?

I have the std lifter on and it seems to be to strong for the boot. It's bending the boot up about 1/2cm on teh lifter side.

Has anyone got a gas ram or can i just adjust the std one?

Left mine off bud. The weight of the GT wing used to keep it open when opened fully. Had to be careful in the wind though...

aaa cool i'll prob just add a cable then to make sure it don't bend to much towards the engine lid when open.

I've also seen on posts that adding the gas springs to the carbon bonnet is not recomended.

I've just bought some gas rams has anyone fitted theses onto a carbon bonnet?

Dont quote me on this but I'm pretty sure I've seen people let a bit of gas out of the rams so they dont apply too much pressure.

Just be carefull not to let too much out ;)
