Had a problem today.

.

went for a gear change and nothing- couldnt get it into gear at all.

Pulled over and checked a few things;
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- plenty fluid in the master cylinder
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- no fluid dripping down
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- Gear shift cables still attached
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- with the engine off i can engage/disengage all 5 gears like normal
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I was able to get home in first gear by starting it in gear and then turning her off at junctions.

Basically the clutch doesnt seem to be disengaging.

What i will do next is get someone to press the pedal while i look to see if the slave cylinder is moving.

If its not the slave cylinder, any ideas whats happened? I thought perhaps the release bearing

(which has squeeked for ages) but i'm not sure??
