JDM 1998 Revision 5 GT turbo!! 403hp,360lb

Post by jimGTS »

granted still needs a polish....
but i spent most of the weekend fitting my ICE install, and polishing the Dep II, bending the grill up and installing my rogue engine lid fans....
managed to find a hidden AVCR under the carpets to, lol

all coming together well.

just need to sort my number plates to some nice legal square ones (i have a front square plate holder to go on)
still to fit my CRN discs, and Redstuff pads...and maybe paint the calipers RED.
clean up the bay....
setup 4 light brake mod.

very nice, very nice. :thumleft:

I saw it for sale the first time and wished it was a t-bar.

Hows the sale of your other 2 going, and do you think you will miss the t-bar?

yeh i sold the car the weekend before last, went to a member on here, so hopefully will still be around the club and looked after well.

cant say i miss the tbar much, not really....
altho the tbar was great for tunnels and that. i never took it off much.
the hardtop feels much more solid on the road, tbars tend to get a few vibrations, a bit of creaking when going over nasty roads, but this hardtop, none of that. feels newer cause of this aspect.

Defiantly a gorgeous and fantastic car and no doubt one you will be keeping hold of for a long time, hope to see it as some meets. :thumleft:

How are you find the larger turbo?

Nice car Jim, looks nice and sounds nice. Only thing I don't like are the wheels, look too big for the MR2 and not to my taste.

But it's your car, not mine so who cares :thumleft:

it did indeed, lol, was a little dirty and alot of carbon build up on the tips.
but alot better now.

it still needs another go yet, lol.

decided to bend that grill up, show off the cooler a bit more to.
:thumleft:

Red, yeh they are big, thats true, and i never thought i would own 18s on a 2, but it does give it real presence with the fat tyres and good offsets.
i like em, lol.
missing a wheel but tho which is a little concerning

You might wanna get that nut replaced

Mind you, I'd put up with the wheels for a 340bhp Rev 5 turbo

I'm totally the same as you with the whole "t bar to HT" My old rev 2 GTS was a t bar, I now have a rev 3 GTS tin top and I do not regret not having another t bar. I love the look of the HT, more of a coupe :thumleft:

thanks to rash who sorted me with a square front plate holder, these will be going on, and hopefully (am sure it will), tidy up the front a little, and make it look more jap!

i love sqaure plates, lol...

rash, ill try and send back the uk plate holder asap.
