Coming home along the A46 i came across a Pug 306, as i overtook him, ** ish, he floored it and kept on my nearside. 
F**k you i thought, and we ended up doing ** mph before he slowed (i think ) as we were running out of road 
Maybe it was an XSi ?

Top speed for an na mr2 is 130-140mph dependant on the condition of the car.(stock) 306 was the GTi-6, which had a top speed of 137mph (same as a mk2 MR2 NA). Stock for stock with the 306 being lighter has gotta be close, MR2 NA has my vote, just.JohnnyC wrote:IFAIK fastest
Autocar did a test on the mr2 mk2 when they came out and got 137mph as a top speed (rev1) when they tested a rev 3 (in 94) they only got to 134mph despite the 20bhp increase. Its all about the aero efficiency of the car and power @ the rev's where gearing is.(135bhp) is 1190kgs and the gti-6 (167bhp) is 1215kg and top speeds are 125 and 135. And the mr2 n/a being 137. All this info provided by parkers car guide.
