[Mk2] [Turbo] MOT Advice needed please

Post by David21 »

Hi, my MOT is due in a couple of months time and i've just bought myself a berk de-cat downpipe.

As my car was registered in September 1995 i understand the MOT station will need to carry out an emissions test.

Just wondering if anyone has managed to get theyre car through an MOT without a cat when the car is registered after August 1995?

Worst case find a friendly MOT testing station who will be happy to overlook something trivial like this.

Yeah i wondered about that but i thought MOTs were computerised now so they would need to do the emissions test if it came up as required? or maybe im wrong :?

you do not pysically have to have a cat mate, just pass the cat test.

if all is good and healthy it should pass a cat test

I would have thought without a cat your emissions would be over the limit?

Using a high quality fuel such as BP Ultimate for a few tanks before the MOT will also help to significantly reduce emissions ;)
