mk1 OE sub question

Is the speaker in the sub removeable and if so is it possible to upgrade it with a better speaker?

good question, im sure you can get them re-coned but i aint taken mine to bits yet.
does yours work? mine does nothing. the wiring plugs for the radio were snipped when i got it but i connected the subs green power wire to my stereos remote "on" wire so that it pops gently when i switch on the stereo. it still doesnt seem to have much sound coming out of it!

Mine works ok...albeit a bit quiet......sound like speaker upgrades could be on the menu......but then again i dont want to change my stereo.....

The speaker in the little box is removeable. its just a case of removing the screws to open the box up.
