[Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox Problems

Ive had a search on the site and had a good look around the topics to do with gearbox problems. Im pretty sure im going to have to look at getting the box sorted.

Here's my problem, 1st & 2nd sometimes can't be selected, crunches into 4th, sometimes when reversing the car judders and when in neutral theres a rather horrible grinding affair coming from the back.

ive looked at the bushes on the linkage which could have been the problem for 1st & 2nd not going in to well. ive had the oil changed to try and alleviate the crunch on 4th, to now success. the clutch seams to be working fine, no slipping and the bite is right.

have you checked the function of the slave and master cylinders, could be passing fluid therefore not pressing fully on the clutch,

just a thought, otherwise its off for a recon.

Umm sounds like your gearbox is smashed. Sycros and gears will be nackod. Probably a recon or replaced box im afraid.

Cheers for the replies guys. Ive checked the clutch cyclinders and theyre working fine. Im going to rip the box off today and have the thing recon'd.
