I have to ask the question. The Blitz ECU. Does it really make much of a difference? I know it removes most of the factory limiters and raised the boost but wouldn't you achieve similar power gains just by upping the boost anyway?

I'm.sure they have more aggressive ignition and fuel maps so it's not just doing away with the factory limits and upping boost.

I have no idea hence my question.

Don't think they do anything to boost levels. I'd be surprised if it altered the tvsv signal for more boost.
Most if not all people who have them anyways control boost independently so disable the tvsv.
Small bit of timing and bit leaner fueling is what I found.
Higher rev limit, though a bit pointless on a stockish car.
And raised fuel cut

Have a good day mate. Go hard.
I'm taking my new daily driver to the track next month when racing starts again for the season. Toyota Blade Master G. Essentially it's and Auris with Lexus ES350 running gear. 276hp 2GR-FE

Nice to meet and see Steve, aka Odin.
That kit and wheels are awesome!
Also met another chap, couldn't remember his name, sure he's a member on here. They both were running similar 350/360hp levels.
Even had a run out against the chap with the white one!
Things didn't go hugely to plan over the day.
Best run was a 12.75 @110mph
Which was with one of my very best 60fts ever as well. 1.83.
So not entirely sure where some hp has gone, as that really should have seen me below the magic 12.5 given my previous runs.
There was a strong head wind though, and was a hot day. Still, my terminals were a good 2-4mph down from last time.
Oh. And my last run, I ended up blowing my knock sensor!!
Scary stuff.
Hopefully no lasting damage :-/

Oh jesus Jim I'm sorry to say but you're on borrowed time with that engine...... unless that's the plan to then go forged anyway

I have to agree, i'm amazed it has lasted as long as it has, the piston rings being the weak point that is
Still, every car and experience is different, so far Jim is proving us wrong

Wow Jim, drama when i left I hope like you say no damage was done. Lovely car Great meeting you again after so long

Why all doom and gloom, ha.
Hopefully new knock sensor, jobs a good'n.

Usually knock sensors go when excessive knock is detected and it ruins the sensor.
Hope no gloom though.

If you are still getting into the 12s then I reckon you're right , the rings won't last forever with this much punishment though
Re: 1/4 mile Santa Pod. CT20B+Gen3 3SGTE, 12.53@114
Top effort. The knock sensor might have been spoiling your party with the lower traps until it finally let go. Was it hotter than usual? Less downtime between runs? Excessive waiting times in line between runs with the car heat soaking?

Not sure how some of these points would lead to a blown knock sensor , saying that it could simply have been it's time, 20 odd years for a sensor like this is pretty good going...
If i'm wrong then Jim would have to be running everything at the engines total limits, which he wasn't

White and black panda car is Aaron, don't think he uses the forums much, posts on the FB groups quite often. Bit of a monster hiding in that engine bay, plenty more headroom for more boost!
