Just installed Racing Meter for Torque and it's the best £2.49 i've ever spent....

Very cool. :+:

We used the Torque App on my car to monitor oil temperatures on track, very useful tool for that kind of thing.

Cool indeed! I've just had a play about with it and made a Mk1'esque version with added gear indicator.... my first two attempts.

Simplified the layout, removed the shift lights and all other gauges, so this should look pretty good with my four real external digital readouts.

Quick potatoshop...

Powdercoated ARB's now fitted with polybushes and new bolts, before anyone asks they aren't Whitelines, i refuse to pay the ridiculous price for them when Mk2 turbo bars do a better job for a fraction of the cost.

Just about the biggest update i think i've ever done on the cars progress, i finished the Aston Brembo front brake upgrade, calipers painted with VHT gold and new decals applied.

Image

Red braided hoses fitted, i need to repipe the car too, nothing wrong with the old ones, i just like new copper lines.

Image

Image

Literally 2mm of clearance to my Borbets in every direction...

Image

Not a lot of the caliper visible when stationery, but on the move should look pretty cool.

Part of the brake upgrade is the 15/16ths Mk2 NA brake master...

Image

Still got rear upgrade to fit but it's pretty much done brakes wise.

V3 of the digital dash project took a step closer, i did a quick dummy install of the display and checked the powering up/down functioned properly, which it does, that took a lot of figuring out via Tasker, it hooks up to the OBD2 bluetooth very quickly, about 10 seconds after startup.

There is still a lot of work to do on the bezel for this and tinkering with the display, but otherwise very happy with it, i've kept the shift lights and gear indicator, also got to wire up my other dash lights, but pretty cool stuff.

You may have heard in that video that the engine is now running on the new supercharger setup. I have also started work on the new rear strut brace, i want this to be a fully functional item and actually provide some decent bracing...

Image

So not a lot to do for this years round of upgrades, she's pretty awesome.

Surprised you haven't found an update for the slow-as-all-hell petrol level float!

Some people can always find fault  Looks awesome :thumleft:

Ah i actually fitted an anti-slosh device to the digital fuel gauge, before i did that it was bouncing around all over the place, it takes so long to react to float changes now that it gives me a good steady average reading, the only downside being on startup it takes 30 secs or so to find its level.

Every MR2 I've driven has taken at least that long just for the gauge to move up off 0!

Yes the anti slosh damping is much better on a normal analogue gauge, it took me a long time to make my digital one averagely stable, it was literally shooting to 100% and back to zero over every bump in the road.... useless!

Wow, that dash is absolutely fantastic, Paul. Any idea what the Japanese woman is saying?

Also top stuff on the brakes and well, absolutely everything really.

Please say you'll have this car at JAE. :)

Thanks Lauren, she says "little red dragon is awake" on startup and "little red dragon is asleep" when engine off, i thought it was a nice touch but i think it will also get very annoying pretty quickly.

Yes it will be at JAE again this year for definite.

Bespoke strut brace fabrication and painting completed, pretty happy with that. It features a threaded adjuster with lock nuts which really lets you put good tension on the brace.

Does Torque allow you to import your own background images for the gauges and would you be interested in something a little more factory looking? I've been playing around with some software called RaceRender lately which allows me to put customised data overlays on to my on board video footage, as part of that I've been drawing up some graphics to mimic the factory rev counter and speedo if you'd be interested in using them.
