Most of the parts? I think you can get all of the parts cheaper elsewhere.

I've got nowt against the guys there, they're a sterling bunch but their prices could be a bit more competitive IMO.

Ok well a little update. I ordered new big end bearing shells to replace also, and when refitting, they simply wont fit. I used Tom's method of determining which shells to use ordered them and the wont fit, i rechecked my numbers, Toyota checked theirs and sent me new ones and these wont fit. Any advise or pointers?

I understand that there are two crankshaft journal sizes Alex

However, if the crank has been re-ground at some time you will need undersize shells

Do you have access to a micrometer to measure the journals :?:

What markings are on the back of the shells that came out :?:

The crankpin diameter is a nominal 42mm, so it should measure something between 41.985 - 42.000mm. If it is 0.25mm under this it has been reground.

There will be markings on the back of the shells to show if they are undersize Alex

This may seem irrelevant but are there oversize markings on the piston tops :?:

(If so that gives a clue about whether the engine has been previously re-conditioned)

Well rang the enginebuilders that did the machining for me, they have had the rods and everything back and sorted the issue out this morning. he says they were the wrong ones. He s got hold of the correct ones and sorted this out now. Hopefully there will be no more snaggs...fingers crossed.

Why did the engineeering company have the rods Alex

They didn't need them

Are they marked ? So they go back in same bore as originally :pale:

I really can't understand all the confusion :?

Looking back at this:

Image

It appears the big end bearings are part number: 13041-16071-0X where X is the class.

So the bearing nightmare has now been sorted. At the weekend have just started cleaning and sorting some parts out, have cleaned all the sump from all the sludge that was in the bottom, have cleaned and lubed up the tvis manifold as these were crudded up and looked like they were starting to seize up so soaked and then wd40'd, have then pained the cam covers red with white lettering! not bad for a saturday morning!

Hopefully going to get the cam gears and other pulleys to give a wire brushing and maybe a lick of paint also. Seats and harnesses are ready to go in when the car gets home, and also the sound deadening and carpet will be removed. Friend of mine has bought an omp dished corsica "style" steering wheel £40 delivered so im waiting for him to get that for me to see the quality and decided whether im going real wheel or get a good quality knock off.
