Re: [All] [Generic] Body work hell
When my front bumper went into the bodyshop, they had to go down through layers and layers of crap to stop it reacting.
It had been painted with a celulose-based paint
(like the stuff you can get mixed up at halfords) and then the person I bought it off had just primed over the top of that paint and sold it as ready to go.
.
.
so when the bodyshop sanded that down to get a smooth finish they found more paint, then under that more primer, then under that more celulose crap that their paint reacted with! It took ages but the result was well worth it
and after the 2nd attempt at painting it the guy came off his motorbike on a roundabout and spent a month with his arm in a cast which delayed it even more!

We can indeed all be moany gits together

Re: [All] [Generic] Body work hell
No its a chap at a bodyshop who is commited to doing a good Job i've had Custom sills added which probably ad alot of weight but alot of stiffness also i've had everything stripped out under the car to have 3 layers of under seal put on!!!!
Plus i've told the guy its best to take time and do the work than rush and mess things up also told him of a magazine shoot so he probably wants a mention!!!

Ohhh and the best bit one of the door struts have just failed on me an all.

Re: [All] [Generic] Body work hell
The anticipation must be killing you, I can sympathise:-

When i bought my first Tubby I had to keep it in storage for two months after I bought it.
The suspense without being able to drive it was agonising!

Surely it can't be much longer to wait now?

At least they have taken their time and sounds like they are committed to getting it right which is the important thing.

Look forward to seeing the pictures of the finished article.
