Thx for posting the pix mark. Mk2man your car doesn't have to have a cat for an MOT. Just make sure the station knows and agrees it beforehand. Then ask for their station no! Just for ref.! It just has to pass the emissions test which a healthy engine with decat pipe should. Mine did, 175k. If you hit probs getting agreement see my prev. post in this thread re: my MOT station in Godmanchester.

Just let me know the date for any sunday meet well in advance guys. Moving in with g/f soon so weekends more difficult/fun?

R

PS. Anyone visit my site got an opinion on my pix?

Just had an MOT done mate and they passed it without cat/non-cat ever being mentioned, so not quite sure what that means!

Will have a look at possible venues for a Sunday meet, any suggestions?

Then try and set on a date!

The cat and non-cat tests are the same emissions test but with different limits allowed for carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. Basically the non-cat test is more generous so easier to pass.

I think all cars pre-August 92 have the non-cat test. For later cars it's more complicated - as I found out.

August 92 is only for UK cars with their standard engine. The loop hole allows imports where there was no equivalent engined model sold in the UK to be tested on the easier test if the car was manufactured before Aug 1995.

It seemed that we crashed the local Caterham owners meet!

Same venue, same night! Strange coincidence.

Yes I've had a look through your site, don't know much about photography but I reckon there's some really good stuff there. I think your best work is in the Portraits and Wildlife sections. That shark is ****ing scary!

Oh and Rob, I've contacted Apex Tyres and am taking the car in at 14:00. Price is between £45 - £55! Hopefully that should get my steering sorted!

Cheers. Just tried them and they are quoting £2500!!!!

Think I'm gonna go down the route of parents insuring it fullycomp and being named driver. With DirectLine you can get no claims as a named driver which is good. Got a quote under those circumstances for £734.00.

Is it ok to insure it in familys name even though I own the car or do I need to transfer ownership? When I filled out the quote they didn't ask who owned the car.

You could also try Adrian Flux for a quote. They cover mods too and agreed values.. helpful if you'll be modding an older or high mileage car. Discount likewise for premium members...
Apex still have all the kit for proper 4 wheel stuff then? I reckon thats v cheap for a proper set up... almost too cheap?
THx for the comments Chris. 16ft Great White. It looked alot scarier from inside the cage trust me..... :pale:

I checked with them about the setup and eqip for Mr2's and mentioned IMOC and they seemed confident they still had the equipment and even told me that they shouldn't be aligned with the rear. They made changes and I've deff seen an improvement. I'll post the report up soon for you to have a look at.

Just had a look through all your photos on the site. Absolutely fantastic! :thumleft:

I particularly enjoyed the landscapes.
A Sunday meet would be great so that you can take some nice pics of our cars.

Any Sunday over the next month is good for me! Any ideas on a venue? There's a couple of good ones over my way but I'm guessing you all won't want to travel that far!
