Well, you're a mental  Kudos for doing it though, as because as MR2s go 400 was enough for me. I'll go much higher in the future but in something else.

Haha... Ill be honest mate before I put the R1Rs on the back it had T1Rs on it... It was a totally different animal and I had issues with it at 1.5bar staying in line coming off roundabouts in the dry.

My problem is that I've been brought up around cars and motorbikes.. My old
Man is worse than me plus he is xxxx hot behind the wheel. I guess I just chase him in a way...

I bet you will have much more power one day though and I hedge my bets on something beast like a ZR1 or something awesome of similar pedigree...

Understandable then I guess. I've always been curious to see what an epic powerful '2 feels like. To me 400bhp was a lot but you do get used to it. My thinking was that it becomes less and less useable in these cars, which is why I capped myself at 400bhp. 600 would be wild! =P~

They do say 400 is perfect for the road... To be honest I would agree there for safety reasons haha!

I'm guessing you have more of a racing focus for it then?

Not at all mate. Full blown road weapon... Full interior but will gain a cage i reckon.
However, I do intend to to TOTB next year 100% as I've always wanted to as a kid. Also it has seriously lacked MR2's recently and I know Greeny will probably run next year too. I know my old man is wanting to do it so ill run it with him and also a few mates of mine are planning on doing it too... Just for fun between us.
I reckon I will probably do a good few 1/4 mile runs too At the pod and such likes. :P
But it's main purpose will be spirited driving on street at an appropriate time and location... Doesn't mean I ain't game for track days though. So as of spring count me in for any that I can manage to get time off for.

Ill be honest... My two goals are:

1) sub 10 second 1/4 or drag radials or atleast a sub 10.5 on road tires (big ask... I know)
2) crack 200mph once I put a 3.9 final drive box in it.

#2 got me some funny looks at Fensport when I mentioned it but Adrian did say a customer of theirs had said this goal before and gave up. Which ofcourse has made me more determined. I've had the car flat out on the A1 (m) coming home from Fensport... For all of about 5seconds carrying out with that 458. (Please note for those who don't approve.. The only other vehicle in site was an articulated lorry)
So I've really got the bug for it now as I know it's not too far away.. I only want to do it just once.

Haha believe it or not mate it was Roy doing this and seeing Greeny run a few times a couple of years back that inspired me to really get into the MR2's. sure I always liked them but I would have probably built some daft Evo6 instead...

Edit... And to answer your question: I think when the car does that you know it's time to seriously rethink your life plan. What gets me is just how much grip he got initially... Amazing!

I'm genuinely excited to see the results of this. Some big aspirations but what's life without aspiration :thumleft:

Very true mate... worth a shot I reckon if I can save enough to do so.

Managed to find a video of my old man driving past me on low boost trying to liston to what the car was doing. I was having boost issues a few months back.

Yeah it aint bad Phil, thinking of taking the insert out the BOV as I don't know if I like the whistle as much as just a flat DUMP sound.

and cheers bud its getting there :)

I woke up on early sunday, pulled up my blind and was smacked straight in the face with an absolutely gorgeous morning. Sun was blaring down... no clouds and it was so peaceful outside. Something wasn't right though...

It was the perfect weather to take the car out. 830am and im in the garage putting the parts id started taking off back on. By 10am I could hear the motorbikes were out playing and a few Scoobs giving it big licks. That was me on a mission by this point. My road tax runs out on Wednesday and I was going to have to insure the car but that takes 2mins... however I forgot one important thing... I have put my plate on the car but haven't bother to get physical plates made for it and there was nowhere on a sunday that would make me them up. Halfrauds wouldn't make them small enough (being the super strict goons that they are) ...
So much to my displeasure I decided that plan was out the window..

I then figured id test fit the MT's on the car to make sure they would be ok as I hadn't yet tried them on the car. Beer cracked open and 19mm socket out...

I was in need of rolling my rear arches when I have the Regas fitted with 255's on but I definitely need them rolled if I plan to use these at all.. 275 is just pushing the standard arches a little.

But they fit on and don't rub on the strut inside which is what I wanted to know.

I decided not to bother putting the matching front wheels on as you can see :P

275's are probably OTT, 255's work so well. Black on black works so well, somewhat reminiscent on Rob B's old car, which was a stunner.

Yeah they just cut too much. I really need to get the arches rolled though even with the 255's... it scrubs when going over a bump at the back. was ideally looking into flaring the arches a little bit but unsure what ill end up doing. could do with an extra 15mm-25mm or so... but who knows.

Yeah I quite liked it myself. Don't get me wrong, I aint a big fan of the AVS 5's but I got them only for throwing slicks on.. rattle canned them gloss black for the mean time. I think it looks pretty cool mixed up for doing a 1/4.

I don't think I ever came across Rob's car... ill go have a look

****EDIT**** I do know robs car... its a lovely car aswell, I remember when it was up for sale... I was so close to jumping but at that point I was just short for it

Well atleast the car didn't go to waste in the end.. that's the main thing I guess. Its always a shame when a good car gets broken up though.
