Your help is invaluable Paul, but you know i can be like you - stubbonly independent!

I know it's taken time this weekend, but it will make wiring the engine loom to the car easier if i have the info available in spreadsheet form. And it's a lot easier identifying wires on the sitting room floor than it is bent double in the boot of the car!

Well Paul you will be pleased to see that the thread title and sig have both been changed... I have to concead that you beat us to getting the engine plumbed in first :clown:

Peter has pretty much worked out the entire loom now. Yesterday he was sorting out the two chasis plugs:

Today even more of the engine has seen daylight...

I really worry about you lot
God only knows what the Le Mans trip will turn out like. It's probably going to be more like an episode of wacky racers as opposed to a car convoy! Lol.

Peter is progressing really well with the car recently so I'd be impressed if you managed to get another done before us. You've already knocked me down in the top 3 of these engines fitted into mr2s. I'm not going any further down the list!

Whilst I don't have the car with me to waste money on that I don't have, I figured that I have to spend the banks money on something else. I've taken to buying rare, different or interesting mr2 literature to keep me busy. I've got a large box of them on-route from Japan. In the meantime the postie delivered this today:

I've already spoken to Peter a couple of times today and know the car is going well. So more photos later - bottom end almost finished being inspected and cleaned up internally :thumleft:

One side cleaned up and de-gunked.

The other side will be attacked tomorrow along with photos. A painfully annoying and dirty job to do I'm sure:

Hopefully there should be some photos from Peter later showing the progress from today... In the mean time the postie turned up with an original brochure:

Image

Image

I had only just finished flipping through that when the doorbell went again... It was a courier firm delivering a mysterious box from Japan

Image

First out of the box was an ETC. This was a trial run to see how costly it was to export car electronics from Japan. Unless something really catches my eye in future I don't think that I would do it again as its just not financially feasible. In two minds if I should keep it or sell it - it will probably end up on the for sale board

Image

Image

Then came the stuff that I really wanted for my ever growing mr2 based rare literature collection. Most of these are either tabletop books or limited edition Japan only magazines based around the MR2

Image

Image

To give you an idea as to what some of these hold... Pictures from random pages:

Image

I'm very happy that I've managed to get my hands on them; I've got a ridiculously huge MR2 book and brochure collection now. Importation costs are just stupidly expensive so I'm going to give some serious thought as to whether or not its something I will do again :-k I guess there is always going to be a magazine or part that I want and that might be the only way of sourcing it...
