Will do- if my bearings are the larger size I'll send them over so Steve can get his car back on the road :thumleft:

I was actually thinking of the design- do you think they need to be steel? It would be very easy to get a replacement set cut in ali instead...would be quicker than waiting for another set from Alex, and lighter :-k

See what size yours are when you get them out.
I am going to try and make some up over the weekend, but I think they do need to be steel as a lot of loading on them under heavy cornering.

Made two new slugs for Steve yesterday and all fitted well, but when he came to fit the drop bracket from the slug no way will it fit, so now that has to be trimmed.

I do not remember having any problems fitting my kit.

Is the bracket too narrow to go over the hub, or just the slug??

It fits over it ok but hits the arm casting, the bracket is too wide so will not line up to get the bolt through. Steve may have taken photos. I will try and trim the bracket tomorrow as Steve is never happy when things do not go right

yeah its really not going right for me on this stuff ](*,)

Firstly thanks for sending your stuff down Ash, very much appreciated :thumleft:

yeah the first thing was the slugs, Dad sorted that then pressed them in fine
fitted the spacer and the (after market) ball joints leave a gap i had to drill out washers.

i also stripped the thread out of the front hub so fitted a timesert

then this bloody issue with the brackets!

Yeah I'll be dropping it as low as the kit allows me to. Then loading on the camber!

Is your geo kit totally installed? What camber did you opt for and how low did you put it?

My kit is getting installed next week.
After that, wide arches are getting installed, then it's getting lowered a fair bit and set the camber.

Read that 1.5 degrees at the front, and 2.5 degrees at the rear is a good starting point. 8)

Sorry for the lack of feed back on the geo kit as ive been super busy,

anyway i managed to get the kit sorted ready for the hillclimb and got a rough tracking and camber setup done on the trailer the night before and my first impressions are that it all works

very well! :thumleft:

managed to get myself within 0.4 sec of the class record set by a 440bhp escort cosworth
even more pleased with the fact i lose 0.5 seconds off the start to the 4wd cars so it shows that the trusty old mr2 is clawing it right back on the cornering (and bravery  )
finished 2nd in class 0.19 off a 450bhp+ scooby

Good effort mate, we gonna see a cutom plow mod next?

Glad to hear the suspension mods work for you, how much rear camber did you dial in in the end?

Thanks.
yeah all seems to be working well, could do with dropping the front 5mm or so as getting a little understeer and keep locking the front left.
forgot to mention that i also cooked my rev3 diff!!!

Quaife one has arrived!

running around 1.8 - 2 on front and 2.5 - 2.7 rear

I'm going for 2.5 on the rear. Would you suggest 1.8 on the front?

It will all depend on what you will be doing with the car. Sharp bends will need more camber but for track days less camber would be better.

You need a starting point, then make changes and see how it feels
