Hi,

I've already added my name to the list as this seems like exactly what i am looking for.

Just wanted to ask if the AFM could be removed using this ECU with minimal fuss. Or is it going to take the same hassles as with a rev3 upgrade?

I won't be doing a version that bins the AFM for quite a while.

Really I would need access to a rev2 MR2 (i.e. I'd have to buy one) to get that to work properly.

I could do a fudged version but it would take a serious amount of time on a rolling road to get decent basemaps.

Also a MAP sensor (speed density) system will require very careful remapping each time the car is modded whereas AFM systems are much more accommodating of changes that affect VE.

This sounds pretty good! Will the software side of it look like the Megasquirt layout?? I binned my afm on my old uno turbo and ran Megasquirt (think i was the 1st in the europe, if not the world to do it - i must get at least 2 emails a week from people asking for tips or how to do it )

has anyone Megasquirted a Mr2 rev 2?? that would make it afm-less as the Megasquirt has a MAP sensor.

I haven't looked at MS software for quite a while but my SW will look a bit like this tuning GUI I did for the mk1 ECU two years ago.

I'm considering the Greddy Emanage in the very near future but I'd be interested one of these. Any idea of how long till these could be produced?

I'm trying for the end of the Summer but this will be for a handful of units for beta testing.

I've already tested the board in two roadtests and it seems to work great but the tuning software needs a lot of work before it looks like a finished product.

This is great! I've been on holiday for the last 10 days, so it's great to come back and see 18 names on the list!!!

I too am an available beta-tester, down in southampton, no problem popping up to oxfordshire etc.

Can we try and find Jeremy the parts he needs to quickly move forwards? I think he's after the wiring loom plug ends for the 3SGTE Rev2 Turbo... anyone got an old wiring loom around? Or know what part numbers they are?

If someone can get the part numbers up I'll look to get him some to make this process easy (having seen the nightmare he goes through to hook it up! It looks soul destroying!)

My guess is that all Mk2 and 90's Celicas will have the same ecu connectors so it might be simpler to go down the scrap yard with some wire cutters and find some NA cars rather than pay Toyota prices (if they even sell the connectors separately).

Ok so we need to find the definitive answer on this, exactly WHICH model cars offer the same plugs as the Rev2 3SGTE Turbo. Also, I'd still like the part numbers so I can get some prices. If it's reasonable I'll invest. I know these parts will transform the project and give the Jeremy the momentum he needs to get the software moving!

Toyota Celica st185's from 1990 to 1994 and Celica st205's all use the same three ecu plugs as the rev 2 mr2 ecu

The only thing that is different between them are certain pins are used on the celica and the mr2 this doesn't stop them plugging in and shouldn't be a problem for Jeremy as its a simple re-pin

When they become available what's the arrangement on mapping?
Will any Rolling Road place be able to set a good map or will a specialist (e.g. 2bartuning) be your best bet??

Major pat on the back for Jeremy though, must have taken a fair bit of work to sort this out. You've probably made a shedload of fans by doing this what with the demise of the PFC, although I can't see the suppliers of aftermarket ecu's dancing in the streets.
