Wow, my trackday mpg was in the mid teens but that was with standard fuelling :-k

I wonder if I could just about get another set of wheels in the car.

You might have a chance if you took out the passenger seat, but it would still be a real squeeze. I managed two wheels in the passenger seat ages ago, but in retrospect it was far from safe.

I did see someone driving a 2 with two wheels in the boot and I think it had a cord strapped around the spoiler to the towhook to keep it shut. But still not very safe imo.

I never bothered calculating the mpg, all I remember was looking at the fuelgauge at about 3pm and going OH S**T! :eye:

I didnt have a problem with brakes, but then with the setup on my car i'd be worried if I did! It will be interesting to compare with some other 2's tbh.

Hehe yeah that's pretty much our reaction at much the same time.
The tank was brimmed for the drive there from Bristol & the low fuel light came on as we hit Bristol again on the return journey.
I think we did 5 or 6 sessions of 15 mins or so in total.
There is a garage just down the road from the track but it was about 4 ish anyway so we elected to call it a day rather than get more.

Sounds like I'd be better to just pop the track wheels on for the day.

My track MPG at Bedford was somewhere around the 9-10mpg mark in my mk1 SC

I normally brim the tank and take two jerry cans with me :-$

Tend to need. at least one can four the day, then put the other in before traveling back.

Dread to think how much the green beasty will use...

May 2015
just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Still in the garage...

Nah, looks like there will be at least a couple more with any luck. Either way we'll have a mk1, mk2 and mk3 - it's pretty entertaining to see how their dynamics differ on track

MEERRRkk off of the mk3roc

he started his track car same time as me but hasn't been on track yet, he is also taking a different approach of spending a fair amount on it..
new springs, expensive pads, rogue seat mounts, full underbody bracing, braided lines, expensive wheels and tyres..
looks good, but ill prob still have just as much fun :)

look forward to seeing it on track looks very cool

Argh, annoyingly the car has gone back to being fine again. Shaft play seems fine and got luke to compression test it and got a nice 12bar across all 4 cylinders.

Consensus is still turbo, so i'm just getting the gaskets to swap the td05 on.

Edit: also noticed one of my rear calipers is sticking
