Next problem...

Since I had it idling for pretty much 2 hours when bleeding it, the voltage has started fluctuating a lot. Never done it before. Not too bad with no lights, but as soon as they're on and rpm goes below ~1200, it drops to about 10v (from the voltage dial). Above 1200rpm, it tends to fluctuate rapidly between 10-18v.

Any ideas? Battery is still fully charged.

Vid of it here: http://youtu.be/bS77yCXH4Y4

First few seconds are just with rear lights on, then headlights, and then revs between 1500-2000.

Just ordered:

New 350mm 'Nardi' steering wheel
Crystal clear front indicators & reflectors
Crystal clear side indicators
Orange tinting film (for the above)
New plugs, oil filter & a K&N cleaning kit.

Will get some Castrol GTX as it's currently £12 at Asda, and order a timing belt kit tomorrow.

Sounds good.

Whats the reason for the tinting orange? Do you know the JDM indicators/sidelights are orange from factory. Not MOT worthy over here, but many people have fitted them, me included.

Did not know that!

But I think the original ones look a bit dated, I prefer the lenses (anal I know) on the crystal ones, but want to keep the exterior looking OEMish, so I'm sticking with orange ones. Plus if it turns out I don't like the orange, I've still got clear ones. Will be better than the cracked, smoked ones on just now.

Got a labour quote of £100 for the cambelt.

This look like a decent kit?: http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts_i ... searchKey=

Ordered a decat as well.

Just ordered the cambelt kit too: Timing Belt, Tensioner Bearing, Idler Bearing, Hydraulic Tensioner. There's a specialist in Leeds that's quoted me £100 to fit, so hopefully have it replaced and fully serviced before the week is out.

Few parts came today so did a few things.

Old lights:

New:

Nice to have solid lights, and working sidelights. Shame someone has knackered the wiring behind though. New lights came with looms, but can't use them as of yet.

Wing Indicators off, cleaned and new:

Quite like them clear, still gonna try them orange but I may be sticking to this.

Also gave the exhaust another polish, and removed some sticky pads from the front bumper finally.

Nice and smooooooth:

Air filter is currently drying after being cleaned, ready for oil. Crazy the amount of dirt that came out of it, don't think it's been cleaned once.

Nice motor mate, coming along nicely. Only thing I'd change (personal pref.) is to remove the Tom's scoop. Never been a fan of them.

Lights look a lot better though. :thumleft:

Thanks, I'm actually looking for an engine inspection panel to replace it! Want the exterior pretty stock.

This arrived about 5ish, so threw it on too.

Took a while as when taking the boss off (So it was in the correct position finally), the ring that cancels the indicators fell off and snapped. So had to figure that out, then sort the horn out as one of the previous owners obviously had a hobby of wiring but was **** at it.

Fake one, but miles better than what was on previously. Doesn't flex as I've seen Driftworks demonstrate, and it's nice to have a larger wheel. Anyway:

Cambelt is booked for Friday too.

Looks miles better! Nardi's are such nice wheels to hold, I used to have a 330mm one. But I kinda want a KEY!S Racing or Personal one. Lights look good too!

These came today, attempted to fit the decat, two bolts came out fine, the other two didn't. Wouldn't move at all, so I'm gonna get the bloke who's doing my cambelt to throw it on.

Also went for a drive today after getting the tracking done. Much nicer to drive with the new wheel, and enjoyable having it straight.

Been dropped off for the cambelt, decat and oil change.

Got new plugs to fit, radiator fan sensor and maybe the orange tint film now.

Will try my best! Only working with a camera phone though.

I'll try get some tomorrow. It's basically an L shaped steel plate bolted on to the tow hook. Plate is secured with sticky pads.

Dropped the car off this morning, got a phonecall 4 hours later saying he couldn't fit me in and to go back next Friday. pi$$ed off as I need it done ideally for next week. So tomorrow I'm going to YVS Performance to have a word with them. Only 20 minutes or so from me.
