gts is poverty spec in relation to the gt, not sure that its going to be alot lighter from having non retractable wing mirrors and fixed front fogs

its gonna cost about a grand to put back to being sweet and fully serviceable.

Excluding tyres, sounds like a couple of hundred quid at the most. :?

Ok Jason, I just thought maybe GT's might have air con standard and GTS was an option hence the weight could be a bit different :thumleft:

10kgs at most, and with just over 300hp in mine i can honestly say i wouldnt notice and would rather have the aircon.

if it was going to be a track only car id removethe entire heating/aircon system and install a 1kg lightweight heater matrix to keep it road legal

But you seem to answer all my question :thumleft:

I don't really mind about air con just wondered, just trying to get as much info on them as possible so if something isn't on a car I will ask questions and vis versa if something's been added I will ask why. :thumleft:

one thing i do know about mr2's with aircon is that all o the condensor rads at the front of the car will turn to dust if touched or moved, and toyota want over £200 for one, iwas going to make upa replacement using a mk4 golf aircon rad as it fits but the fixings are different so couldnt be ar5ed to go any further

GT had steering fogs, majority had T bar roofs, Leather & suede interiors & retractable mirrors.

GTS was available with the options of the GT. But were generally hard tops with non steering fogs, non retractable mirrors and cloth interior.

GTS - more of a track car
GT - posing model with all the toys

Both have air con, as do all imports.

Thanks Red, not bothered about differences in fogs, mirrors and tbh I prefer cloth interiors  by retractable mirrors do you mean ones that have electric retraction or that you can physically push them in yourself? I'm only asking as I have to tuck mine in to get in my garage so I need to be able to push them in.

No bother mate, the retractable mirrors electrically fold in via the drivers side control panel :thumleft:

I gave it a good old fashioned clean today. It really is a lovely car. I just stood looking at it and I know I'd regret selling it.

I'm gonna put it back to the standard it should be at. In the last 4 years I've done over 40,000 miles. I've enjoyed pretty much every one and she's never once let me down. It's the sort of car which still warrants looking after.

I'll pm you soon Pete about having some routine work done.

Just looking at insurance through confused and somehow a Rev3 turbo is cheaper to insure than my Rev2 UK NA, how does that make any sense? Chuffed anyway

I know Jason very bizarre, not complaining though
400 for a turbo 403 for my NA and I haven't even started shopping around on the classic insurance websites yet.
