Re: Mr2 Turbo Sprint Car (Banshee)
so time for the fuel tank
i had a bosch 044 pump in there anyway but running on stock main tank lines so these needed changing
i went for -8 flow and -6 return
bits!
got the pump out
little bit of cutting needed to fit the bigger adapter
took the tank lid and cut and drilled it out for -8 elbow
put the -8 adapters on but wont fit!
had to order 2 -8 push fit fittings and hose instead
-8 on the elbow
marked up the tank an drilled out for the return
return in the tank
all done ready to go back in!

no i did'nt thats a lie!
i got 2 flare fittings and flared my own pipe
haha anyway the tank going in
10 micron filter
Filter needing cleaning (bit random)
The crank and bits came back from the balancers amd the re-build continues..
oil squirters back in
time to get the lube out!
started putting the pistons and rods together
double checking the ring gaps
rings on
now the main bearings
i wanted to get the bearings from toyota rather than after market ones as they are sized to the correct tolerances.
used clevite for the big ends
out of everything that we had balanced the hks pullys were the furthest out (not supprised tho)
Muffin!
all in!
while it was out i thought the sub frame would look cool in white.
the last thing left to do before the last race was my number squares
all ready to race!!!!!

Loving your work The video of you racing in the wet made brought back terrible memories though
How often do you race?

Re: Mr2 Turbo Sprint Car (Banshee)
You should have seen us this weekend, five runs and wet to start with getting drier each run then on the 4th run Steve was faster than the Cosworth Escort he has lost to for the last two years. The Escort driver then changed his wheels and tyres to better ones and as he was doing that it started to rain again. With the rain Steve and myself ran slower but the Escort went faster, but just not enough

yeah sorry about that.
ive bumped a few cars and always find waking up the next morning the worst bit.
the races can be as often as every weekend during a full season.

Re: Mr2 Turbo Sprint Car (Banshee)
made some pins up for my engine lid
it was a pain in the ar$e undoing the bolts every time so i spun them around marked them up and drilled the holes.
i wound a ss welding rod around a drill bit cut it into circles fed through a split pin and tacked with the mig
after werrington where the car handled like a bag of............
i checked the ride heights front and rear and they were way out.
so the ride all sorted the next task is fitting all this....
crank sensor
cam sensor
coil on plugs
sard 800cc's
motec m84
didn't want to cut the main loom so got a set of loom conectors a box and a shed load of pin locations and wiring diagrams.
and thats about it all up to date!
only took 3 pages!

Re: Mr2 Turbo Sprint Car (Banshee)
well guys im feeling good about this weekend
and i recon ill get all the sensors on and wired back to the ecu
i think no later than early july it will be mapped to its extreme!
strange thing is im not that worried/excited over the extra 100hp im more excited about sh... loads of antilag thumping out the side exit!
