If you get out the car carrying it then it can still be considered to be premeditation and add to your sentence. Or you'll end up against someone who knows how to take such things off people. Much better gettign otu without a weapon, you could just be handing a blunt instrument to someone who is goign to batter you with it, and plead self defence as YOU got out with the weapon. Plus weapon gives you fake confidence, you can concerntrate too much on having the weapon and not on calming the situation down.
