Re: My MR2 - the dark destroyer
Some more progress - spent alot of time drilling out spot welds to save weight on brackets i'll no longer need. Also got the glass fibre doors on and got some new wider arches to cope with the wider track and the drag tyres...
Roll cage mounts
The car is going off this weekend to get painted and sorted - quite excited to see it once its done!!

Nice. Have you just spaced the fronts out? They're the same wheels as I've got. Personally went for 7x17 and 9x17. Yourself?

Sorry Ant, i have spaced the wheels out to get the right width for the arches - i have drag wheels arriving next week so can put them on and know for sure where the arches need to be.
Mine also are 9 and 7"

Nathan

Cheers Nathan. Looks really agressive with the extra width on there.

Presumably the Border bumper is a requirement for low times? I just put one on mine, looks nice.

Presumably your sponsors are gonna want you to put in an appearance at The Fast Show this year?

Re: My MR2 - the dark destroyer
Went down to see the car today at the body shop . work is coming along nicely now.
The inside is painted, the rear arches are done and its all looking good - the arches will look different once on, i didnt want any filler weighing the car down so the arches will be bolted on, you can see the lugs in the pictures
Should be all finished and ready to collect next friday, then the building commences!

Re: My MR2 - the dark destroyer
Im using a set of Paul Wood's arches Roy - had bad issues with tyres catching so needed to address it. It will also give me the option of running a wider track if the car ever makes it onto the circuits.

Sounds good. I have the same problems with mine. We pulled the archs a lot but I think it looks a bit crap. Have you any pics and are the expensive?
