It's the length of the tie rods- they are longer on the rev 1 subframe

Magic Beans wrote:What is it about the rev1 version which makes it better? Is it stiffer or heavier etc?
its actually narrower in the middle but the structure is still the same, the main difference is the shorter control arms
I dont know the exact science behind handling so wont/cant get technical (im still learning engines ) but a shorter arm helps with grip but is harder to control when the tyres break lose.

Phil- when you have a spare few hours have a read of Alex's analysis, it will explain all if you can wade your way through it:

oh ideal! i havent even seen that i just bought the kit because i was told to.
Re: Mr2 Turbo Sprint Car (Banshee)
I have to admit I've tried to read it through a couple of times but haven't made it yet- there is a lot there...but I like the approach...
I might also be guilty of buying the kit before fully understanding why it works so well

How's rev limit raised out of curiosity?
What ever the crappy turbo is must be doing alright to take that abuse.
Sounds like a cheap 'good' turbo to me. But guess your not running big boost.
Well back along someone started putting boards in the stock ecu to make them mappable, dad got hold of one for my car which had the rev limit raised 250rpm and the stock rev3 boost cut raised as well but not sure what to,
not that it mattered as id never hit it.
Unfortunately the program to tune these boards fully was never written and only the simple bits like boost cut and rev limit were changed on the guys bench.
The cheapo turbo was rebuilt and balanced properly before i fitted it so should last for 5k miles at least and yeah not even running a bar through it yet.

Attempted to register Magic Beans so time ago, with the promise of a confirmation email being sent out to me after some moderation has taken place. That never materialised, so I suspect that automated part of the site has some issues, or nobody's monitoring it.
Thanks
Thanks

That should be sorted now, I do not know if you have been sent an email or can just sign in.
