Re: Christmas LM Party in Derby
Well neither did I! But Toyota parts are expensive and MK2 Turbo's just aren't worth much any more.

Re: Christmas LM Party in Derby
Woot! The garage undervalued the car by going on the glass's guide price for a UK MR2 not an import, an independent assessor employed on behalf of my insurers have revalued the car at £4k and given me a £1450 payout to get it all sorted out. It won't cost that much to put right so therefore I now have a cash surplus with which I can get the front bumper and sideskirts sorted out

Re: Christmas LM Party in Derby
I have taken today off work to take a tour round some bodyshops for quotes. I'm not using anyone that hasn't come recommended, and I've narrowed it down to a list of 4. One of them is the place in Milton Keynes that Toyota outsource body repairs to, and one of them is the littleknocks place that everyone raves about on driftworks...

Oooh - will get in touch with you about this next year then, as my Mk1 has rusted a bit...
There's a place near Flitwick that has done a few Mk1s in the past, and seems to specialise in proper classic cars; I was thinking about taking my Mk1 there, but MK would be nice as it's closer... Plus if you can get a recommendation from someone that's used it, that's even more ...

Re: Christmas LM Party in Derby
Woo, insurance cheque arrived today
Max, I've come across a place near the Warrington BP who specialise in restoring classic sports cars. I've seen his previous work (on various Astons - he had a DB7 in when I went there for the quote) and he's not worked out as expensive as I thought. Still quite dear, but bodywork really is one of those areas where you get what you pay for. He won't quote me on the front bumper and sideskirts until he's seen them so I'll arrange that in the new year and I shall update!
