...and then there's the rest of us staying behind.

Hope you're having fun and be sure to post any photos when you get back - I want to see what it's like.

Just got back - excellent day, only marred by a few red flag 'intervals' :

1 when a Honda S2000 had a con-rod decide to part company with the rest of the engine, at 9000rpm, all the way down the straight. The track marshals were picking bits of engine off the track for half an hour  ( not to mention the oil slick )

2. When a Lotus Exige blew its cooling system up, again on the straight ( haven't checked yet, but I may have this on video as he'd just passed me )

3. When a Lotus Esprit V* decided to deposit its bodily fluids on the track

Note that none of our 15+ year old MR2s experienced any serious problems ! :D

I felt sorry for the guy in the XTR2 who had to drive it back on the road as his Dads Lotus V8 was on the trailor

I was following him down the track from the circuit - I could see his head bouncing up and down as he went over the potholes etc.

The "only overtake with consent" rule was soon forgotten at the first bend...

Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant!

I wasn't intending on taking my car on track, but after getting to the track on Sat morning, I threw caution to the wind and signed up to my first track day.

Had a complete blast. One of the best weekends by far!

Overcooked things in the afternoon with Tom in the passenger seat, somehow avoiding a major spin and nearly hitting a tyre wall on the exit of school gave us both a serious brown trouser moment!

On sunday Anna returned the favour by nearly sending us into the marshal point at Radar  See the video in Bens thread 8)

Only a few very minor problems with the car (brakes and coolant) in the very last lap with Mark having a bit of a goon 8)

Many thanks to everyone there for making it a truly fantastic weekend - especially Tom and Lauren for organising everything! =D>

Bring on the next one 8)

(spot the new trackday addict)

Yes Garrick, but you omitted a few details! :D Correct me if I am wrong but we hadn't even completed a lap! It was on exit from the pits that you charged into School then got the back end out (three times !) and seemed hell bent on hitting the tyre barrier on the inside of Abbotts! I must admit that after seeing the tyre barrier come into view three times that we were sure to hit it, but somehow you managed to avoid it... Top fun!

Top weekend all round :thumleft:

Thanks to everyone for the passenger laps, after I'd been doing some horrible lines through School I eventually sussed out some better methods thanks to watching other people :)

Many onlookers may have thought my tendency to randomly stamp on all 3 pedals was the work of an amateur, but in reality I was finding it all too easy and wanted an extra challenge mid-bend. :^o

Thanks again to Alex and Anna for the brake fluid, use of the support vehicle's tools and to Anna for all the help messing around with my brakes, hugely appreciated! I owe you a beer or 2 (and some brake fluid) :)

You carried lots of speed into and through School, each time my hand tightened its grip on the handle :) Some very good laps you were doing.

Note to self, take a long hard look at the apex of the goonpin before commiting to some more tyre shredding...

Could have sworn we had done one or two laps before offering you the chance to crap yourself :-k

Glad you enjoyed it 8)

Hi all, I came down for an hour or so on Saturday afternoon (arrived late as I got lost off the bridge #-o and must have drove around the whole island!). Sorry but didnt really get a chance to meet many of you as most were on track and I was glued to the spectator wall checking out the cars! Anyway I got some video footage, its not brilliant but I got some mk1's and a mk2 going down the straight a few times plus the le-mans style car (dont have a clue what it was but looked superquick) and a few others. Pm me your an e-mail address and I will be happy to send it (file size will be about 20-25mb) Anyway you all seemed to be having a great time and hopefully I will be on track next time around. [-o< Cheers! :D
