If it does rain, I'm looking forwards to it. Its top fun the wet, but Douglas/Mountview will be even more slippery than they are even in the dry ..

I'll be bringing a load of AV connectors along with me, along with the In car Camera rig.

I'll be using it myself on Saturday, but if anyone else wants to get a session's worth of footage you're welcome to borrow it, providing I don't run out of MiniDV tapes - I'll drop you the footage on a DVD later ..

Lauren wrote:Cotageage details in case anyone hasn't seen them:

Postcode for the cottage is LL63 5PJ. Basically you turn off the A4080 into the village of Aberffraw. Go through the village keeping the church on your left, continue out of the village. Follow lane turning left at sign (Anglesey Borough Council) saying "Access to Farms only". Follow lane bearing left until you come to Penrhyngwyn on the left.

Anyone who wants the entry/alarm details, PM me before 6.30am tomorrow.

Thanks for the post code/maps Lauren/Tom 8)

Just got in from work and got a bit worried as to where exactly things were. AA route planner reckons it will take me just over 4.5 hours - so I only expect to get there around 10pm.

Righ off to pack and bed as i now also have an early start for work... :(

People remember to bring your own towel.

Also the odd loo roll always comes in handy.

We'll go shopping for supplies/food etc.. then have a whip round etc..

Arrrgh ! B***ocks B***ocks B***ocks  :(

Just been out checking the Mk1 - I was tightening the alternator belt earlier today and wondered why the s alternator didn't seem to be square on to the block - it kinda rang an alarm bell ...

Checking it just now I've found I'm missing the long thick bolt it hinges on at the bottom - so the only thing that is keeping it in place is the 12mm bolt at the top by the belt :(

So, options are ....

1. See if I can get a threaded equivalent bolt from a fastenings specalist in Ipswich tomorrow, and spend a couple of hours removing the alternator, refitting it and then driving over. That will mean a very late arrival, ie arriving at 11pm - Midnight :(

2. Drive it as it is, take a risk. Not too happy about that, its 310 miles each way ..

3. Take the Roadster. I'd have to see if Jonny/Rich have my Trackday Alloys on the BaT truck already and they'd be available to use. I'd also need to get the hard top on the car tomorrow, nearly impossible to do without help.

Ben,

I don't believe this! :( Just get some threaded bar from a local fastener supplier and cut it to length and use two nuts.

See link: http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction ... x=0&ooa=on

Give one of us a call and let us know how you are going on..... :(

Best of luck, Tom

Can you use two small bolts and somehow tie wrap them together to stop them falling out if you see what I mean? Then we could sort it out properly on Saturday morning.

Why do you need to take the alternator off, can't you slide the bolt in, does it fouls something?

Mark / Lauren, if Ben bodges something up, can you bring the bolt from the alternator on the spare engine on your driveway?

Tom, Cheers for the ideas.

Plan is to speak to MrT, then breakers to see if I can get a bolt - the alternator and bracket I think is the same as Early mk2s as well.

Failing that, I'll get some studding (top idea) and use some thread locking compound to hold the bolts on - if there's clearance I'll put two bolts on each end.

I was wondering about cabletieing it in place ... It would be OK as a 'get-me-home' option, but not something I'd like to do really. If that's the last option, I'll bring the Turbo Nutter wagon.

5:45 for us

Reckon there'll be two groups of people tomorrow - the tired ones who drove up in the morning, and the hungover ones who stayed at the cottage
