Well............If you had read this thread all the way through you will see that i am interested!!! I bought an XS power downpipe and experienced the major production flaws. All possible angles of the argument have been covered and everyone is now just repeating what has already been stated the last 11 pages!!!!!!!!!!!

Next time read the thread through before you direct a comment at another member! [-(

i've happily read all 11 glorious pages of this thread, it's called humour pal! maybe people are reapeating previously mentioned things, but they're at least trying to find some solid factual answers out!

your last couple of posts haven't exactly been groundbreakingly novel and exciting have they.

Next time read the thread through before you direct a comment at another member!

try finding all these previously mentioned facts before posting a statement like that! just because i've not felt the need to post in this thread untill now does not mean that i haven't read any of it [-X

The facts have been layed out!!!!!! ](*,) Several times even by Lee(spittingflames). Even the moderators are commenting on repetitivness!!!!!! The thread has not been getting anywhere from the get go so stop b1tching at me!

Who are you to tell me what not to read!!!!!!!!!!! And your telling me about inspiring posts when your first post on this subject was to make a jokey joke.................

Wasn't funny!

But if you think there is a lot more to discuss on this thread then your welcome to do so. But i can vouch for a couple of people that are getting bored of seeing nothing but this thread at the top of modifications every day!!

don't worry mate, i am bored of it! just one more post showing who makes what for who as a definitive answer would be perfect, that's all this thread needs, all i was saying is posting up saying boring when someone replied (think it was XS Power) was a pointless post, so thought i'd input some humour as i've no experience of either product, but interested in the actual outcome.

chill dude!

Yeah sorry bud!

Its just frustrating that having experienced the xs power products and posting on here with other peoples experiences, that people are stiill trying to find a silver lining for the faulty downpipe.

Another thing that frustrated me is that this thread was about Alex(hicks) just posting up some pics and experiences about what he felt was the better option of downpipe. But somehow the post has now become an argument over who makes extreme boost dp and what exciting ranges of new dp's xs power provides! So many times the post has gone off topic and the arguments are too blurred now.

Once again, sorry. Must be my time of the month

lol, it's not a problem dude, anyway, that off topic it was on was over a day old so it was about due for a fresh argument over nothing! as far as i see it, it's been pretty much summed up that if you want something quality you can fit & forget, go see Tim, if you wanna save for the first 5 mins then buy it again a few months later, buy XS Power. i know where my money would go given the choice put it that way!

Hey Ant,

Lol! No.........

It seems to only smell bad after booting it for more than 45 mins or so. I am worried it may be over fueling as my petrol consumption is pants atm. How can i diagnose what is causing it to over fuel??????

Step one would be to open the engine lid but i can't even do that!!!!! ](*,) My catch has bust and the lid is stuck shut for the moment lol! :(

xspower this thread is finished as far as i'm concerned.

You've been asked to prove it and nothing. i've been opening honest about all this. Either proof it or let it die.

Not being funny but we've all seen the character/reputations of myself and xspower. Who you going to believe.

Read it all ... lol rather funny :p

Just to add my bit ... i have an XS downpipe that is now 14 months old, it's been off the car 3 times now to have the cracks welded.

The third time the welder (a friend at work) reinforced it with sheets of metal around the weak points and has been 5 months so far :)

He said its not very well made ... he's a professional welder that does industrial pipe work for a living ... he should know!

Hey guys, god you all know how to argue lol, thought MR2OC.co.uk where i do my bitching was bad lol :D

Just though i'd add as unbiased an opinion as possible.

Tim...Tim bigs up his products, never really bothers me (putting down others does but i'm fairly easy going so i don't care)
I Bought a TB Downpipe and my mechanic/engineer mate who's job for MANY years has been welding was VERY impressed, in fact i got bored of listening to the welding talk and wandered off, fit and finish is impressive.
My car is overboosting but its probably not a wastegate clearance issue TBH its probably the wastegate its self being too small.

Tims Product A+
Tims Serivice A+

I Have also bought a 3S-GE 4 branch manifold for a mate for his birthday for his rev1 n/a, contacted them and they sent one out quickly and well packed.

Finish again was just very pretty looking!, however there were a few issues i'd say were worth noting.

I Don't think the kit was meant for a UK Car as it didn't mate up perfect, also the end flange is 2 inch even though the whole downpipe is 2.5 inch and the system we mated it to was 2.5 inch so we lopped it off - i'm pretty sure its 2 inch to ensure its compatible with a factory exhaust. Anyways my mate just made up a little joining section and all was well the 4brancher is awesome looks very very cool and sounds amazing.

XS Product - B - Loses points for fitment would have lost more if my mate wasn't there to help lol
XS Service - A+ Fast shipping and helpfull.

I'm trying to be unbiased here i am, i've seen a few fitted XS Intercoolers and to be honest, they look good to me! never heard any major issues regarding them either sometimes hear about one of the hoses being wrong but thats it.

And thats the common theme, i don't think the products are bad i think the extra mile to get fitment perfect is missing same applys across the range, the intercooler pipe issue, the 4 branch not lining up, the downpipe being at the wrong angle, silly issues with the T3/4 Kits - the kits have great potential but just not "perfect" and thats where tims stuff varies the turbo kits are perfect as are the downpipes and everything else, but you pay a lot more :D

And to the original poster, not to start a fight, but why the hell did you buy 2 of those downpipes?! thats daft, you should have at least called them up before buying a new one and telling them you were having bother lol :D

Peter Gidden - sbITs wrote:I have fitted 2 XS-Power downpipes in the last month or so, both supplied by customers. I had no fitment issues at all.

I also believe they are now guaranteed for life. Maybe XS-Power can confirm if that is true?? If so, great value for money!

then:

Peter Gidden - sbITs wrote:
screech205 wrote:End of the day there's a good reason why Tim's downpipes cost £185 and the XS Power costs £80 or whatever it is - quality.

I know we aren't all flush with cash but if people really aren't happy with XS Power downpipes then don't buy em!

It's ok that people point out problems with products and is extremely useful but if there is a known issue with a certain product then why do people still buy them and them wonder why they fail?

Which sums it all up nicely. But there will always be people who think they can maintain and modify a 200+BHP car on budget more suited to a Raleigh Chopper, and they will always come back complaining.

Buy Cheap - Buy Twice

Is that your new one?

If so, i don't think thats the same as tim's, tims doesn't have a bung at the bottom near the 3 bolt flange just one at the top IIRC.
