Just took it for a quick run to see what the top end is like, as tbh driving back I didn't get a good opportunity.

It pulls very strongly right to 8K and a bit beyond it seems(!). Still, maybe this is down to cams etc. Sounds good with K&N on it too. Happy days, plenty to do tomorrow. :)

So the question now is, how does it compare to the teg?

Well, not quite the same power but just as raw, perhaps even more so due to the mental suspension.

It can, though do things the teg can't do, which is drift pretty much whenever you want. It is very controllable and seems to handle nicely. I might(!) need to lower the rear tyre pressures from 45psi though! I figure if I don't when it rains I'll have difficulty driving in a straight line. which is good or bad depending upon how you look at it.

It's just an absolute hoot, think MK2 Escort, but better everything. Also noticed, lights aren't standard either. Plus, it's nice that it's got all the extras and even better they work! Noticed brightness adjust for the digi-dash, variable intermittent wipe etc. All good! Air con is ice cold too which is a nice touch and much appreciated today coming back from London.

Will order brake discs and pads though for the front as they are really bad, though they sort of work.

Oh and put my steering wheel on tonight as the crappy Momo that was on it didn't have a big enough boss and dish, so found it a bit of a stretch.

Still not sold on the Bride seat. It's great for going sideways but doesn't feel as comfortable as a Recaro. Not enough bum padding.

Also found this classic clip for Initial D and yes, my car is the exact same model and colour as used in Initial D:

Bit of a fave clip where Bunta is driving and lighting a fag mid-drift!

Enjoy. :+:

I am really starting to think that it won't be long before we watch the entire series of Initial D again!

I have the soundtracks on CD if you are intersted... :)

Easy solution = more pies :thumleft:

Don't you need working kidneys to process those pies? ;)

Some of the pies have kidneys preinstalled inside them, to get around this problem!

Hey Lauren,

Have you seen this.

It's proper 80's to match the car.

So went to change the oil today and was met with the usual scenario of the oil filter being done up pointlessly tight.

FFS, why oh why do people do this? It only needs to be hand tight. Anyways got it off with the following technique of driving a long nail through the filter and attaching some rope then pulling it from the front of the car (Mark's genius idea)

Thanks Alex, Sarah and Mark for your help!

In related news, I've a friend who takes photos for a living to do a bit of a photoshoot in an industrial estate.

Neil and Alex have both driven the car and I've been very naughty with my passenger rides. Still all brilliant fun, really am enjoying the car. I'm looking forward to the rain because I wonder if you'll be able to drift at walking pace, it really feels easy to control. Reckon it will be really good on track once I've renewed the brakes.

Definately! Never seen you brake so hard from the passenger seat for a distant roundabout :oldtongue:

Excellent fun on the twistys though, and the diff certainly wants to lock on every corner!

LOL! I'm a terrible passenger, especially in my own car, but yes, those brakes need sorting!

In related news, coming back up the M6 today got a full on wave from an AE82 owner. Cool. :+:

Have covered over 400 miles since I got the car, so you could say I've had some time in it. :)

I remember a salesman having to almost pry me out of one when they first came out - I was at the dealers collecting parts for my Celica, and just couldn't resist getting into the one they had on display
