It was indeed, flat out when he span.

I was glad when he moved backwards off the track as I wasnt shure I was going to be able to slow enough to avoid him

Anglesey trackday

Just wanted to post a message of thanks to everybody who was there this weekend, was the first thing of this kind I have ever been to and even though i didnt have my new car I had a brilliant time.
Everyone made me feel so welcome and my weekend was made by a couple of awsome passenger rides, in the morning by Scott, who took me out on the club circuit, then Anna on the national circuit and finally Garrick in the afternoon on the GP circuit, you guys ROCK!!! \:D/

Looking forward to getting on track in my car in the future!

I had a great time too, with great company :D Very good experience going out on such a great track. Thanks to Jo and Garrick for sorting it all out, and I enjoyed the wii too! Nice one Scott :D I still need to go on a good few track days and maybe have some tuition to drive like you guys.. though I'm glad I didn't wreck my 1.5 and that it held up good.. just used about a litre of oil :) I hope to see you guys sometime again when theres another track day or meet, I took loads of pics.. here is a select few

Its an SC with a big pulley on it so not totally standard, not got a terribly accurate power figure but it's somewhere between 140 and 180ish. Definitely sure I passed you as I had a big moment a few corners later and decided it was best to go into the pits. Then I waited for you to come in to see if you had it on camera

Yeah, your batteries had died when you got the recorder out so I didn't think you had it.

THANK YOU ALL!

:D Made a marshal very happy this weekend, cracking weather, cracking company and cracking cars. Thanks to everyone who organised it and those that took me round what has long been my favourite track. Broke my Lotus cherry (thanks Anna!) - damn that thing has some grip. Was good fun to see the difference a decent set of tyres make as a passenger in Phil's MkI, despite the nice pirouette going in to school. I remember the old turn was a tad tricky and that version has lost none of its challenge.

Especially fun was the Xbow. I've heard its not a standard engine or turbo in that and now pulls about 500bhp - i've never witnessed power anything like that before but running with the Radical gave me just a slight sense of what its like to be in a race for real. Tipped 140 on the back straight but had to lift for various traffic so i think that could get maybe 150/160 in a race, proper ballsy stuff.

Not looked at the photos yet but have grabbed the video. Will be reviewing and 'tubing the best stuff soon. Now all we need you to do is try my side of the barriers and see what marshalling is like :thumleft: There is a winter series on towards the end of November, its bizarrely some of the best weather on the island (usually) and will be a meeting full of Legends, normally some of the best racing you'll ever see :)

i must say, seeing the nice little huts that the marshals now have it does look a bit more tempting than standing out in the open

Really? We beat plenty of more powerful cars when ours was standard. And a few more now it's supercharged!

Despite my 'issues' I had a great time. I loved the cottages, big thanks to Garrick for sorting those out. It would be lovely to go for a bit of a longer time to see some scenery and stuff, although two days on track is fun (if you get to actually have a car that will work for two days!!)

I loved the track too, fantastic views, oh yeah and the wiggly black stuff isn't bad either :)

Great to see TSS out in force on the Sunday too, 4 cars in the paddock.

Mmm and the Chinese on sat was delicious. Shame we ran out of prawn crackers ;) Cheers to the people who orchestrated the chilli too.

I can't believe it took us 8 hours to get there. Still don't know why. SatNav took us home the 'historic route', great views, not very trailer friendly though.

I'll be looking through my photos in a bit.

Thanks to all who made it and made it a cracking weekend.

Sorry I didn't get chance to socialise at the circuit. Running the Caterhams was very busy.

Least I did get to take the R300 out a few times - some of the ladies got a ride from me they'll never forget

I am going to try compile something for MR2 Only. Can those who took part on the weekend please PM me their account of the weekend. I'll do something from a multiple perspective (thanks Anna for the idea  ). I'll also grab some random shots from our Pro Photographers to include in the article.

For those novices that got the "free upgrade" you are very, very lucky indeed. This WAS meant to be chargable. It was only the fact that Jonny was too ill to come to the circuit this was overlooked.

I also want to apologise to the novices that were not happy with the decision to run the full circuit in the afternoon. It was also meant to have been mentioned that if anyone was unhappy with this plan to speak to sign-on staff before lunch so the decision could have been reversed. Unfortunately this communication did not make it through in the briefing. Again, because Jonny was off ill. Sorry for this :(

Also. Did anyone pick up or see my Garmin Nuvi Satnav and cable? It's gone missing :(

Keep your eyes out for forthcoming MR2 Trackdays.

We have something very special brewing for MR2 owners at Spa-Francorchamps this November

i really enjoyed meeting every one - old friends and new :thumleft:
wii was ace - we all ROCK!
i felt really stupid for drinking too much on friday, but glad i recovered enough to drive later in the day.
I liked the opportunity i had to drive the club circuit. it was really great to have a go at this layout. its got some pretty challenging bits in it for novices, but flows really well when you get it right.
I love the international Gp layout, apaprt from one or two corners were a bit in-between gears for the std mk1a, esp with a passenger.
It was fun passing some mk2's too  also chasing down the beemers LOL.
our video didn't record - doh!

you'll be glad to know that mine did, although the trackside stuff i took on Sunday seems to have been corrupted somewhere. don't think miniDV tape likes being reused for some reason :/

anyway, its going to take a while to encode and upload the vids but what photos i took that are worth sharing can be found here
