I would really notice 3mm difference on door spaces with my eyes :) Now I can't see any difference.

Help me decide on a color!

I can't decide wheather to stay with pink/black or make it all black?

As mentioned before, interior will be black with white cage.
I think maybe black with white wheels should look nice.

Something which can easily be matched if you have to replace body parts :thumleft:

All pink? Ehh, maybe not :D

I'm not sure if I want to mix a lot of colors. But maybe some nice vinyl would look good.

I think black one would be the easiest way if I need to find a replacement parts. And it can really happen as I plan to go some racing from the strip line :)

This would look the best for me, but really too much work to change the whole color.

By the way, maybe someone knows somebody who's braking a hard top mr2? I am looking for a roof to weld it instead of t-tops.

So, not only have you cut and shut 2 MR2s together, you're now wanting to cut and shut a roof on :pale:

Each to their own, but the car just spells 'death trap' to me.

Well, there is no other better option, I guess. Do you mean it will rust soon or is weak?

It will already be weakened by being 2 cars welded together, and then further weakened by more cut and shutting on the roof.

I couldn't recommend enough trying to get hold of a complete original chassis, if you can, that is.

I'm not sure if you saw that a full rollcage is fitted. It makes the car much stronger than any standard car :) The cage is not bolt on, it's welded to the chassis everywhere. I think I can cut as much as I need now to save weight and the car will still be strong enough.

I'd just hate to see the car tear itself apart with you in it. It may well be all welded up, but I've seen the aftermath of cut and shuts, which is why I wouldn't condone one.

I fully agree with you that is's not as good as would be if the car would not be welded from two, buy really, we had no options. And this is why we fitted a cage.
We'll see in a future how it goes, but I'm sure it won't split.

By the way, regarding the roof. I think I will not cut the center part. We would just weld a roof on a top, so I can't imagine how it can be weakened more by doing this. I imagine opposite, it will be stronger.

I know you'll say I'm insane, dumb and so on, but I'll take the risk :)
Today we fitted a hard top.

Next week car is going to be painted. I guess it will all be super red.

Thanks Phil! :) I'm sure I will get what I want, but I'm afraid I won't finish everything untill May. Time attack is on 17th of May, but I still need to run the engine in and tune everything. But I hope painter will do the job during March and I will assemble everything during April.

Today done some more work.
Fitted the dash, dissasambled front, removed anti-vibro material from interior and some other small things.

Here is how somebody repaired car previously... Terrible

I believe it's not usual in UK as you have as many shells as you want. And they are quite cheap. Unfortunately the situation with LHD is a bit different...

My dedication is going down when I see how much work still left...

Anyway, I impatiently want to drive, so I will have to finish somehow.

Also, finally I decided which color it will be. Was thinking between super red and crimson red and I chose crimson :) It will be fully red, no more black tops. I guess it should look cleaner this way.
