Yup! Sorry being cryptic.

No mate, Still using the shocks intended for the rear on the front. We packed out the underside of the shock with high-tensile nuts and some serious washers. All good 8) The only thing that concerns me is that the KYB rear shocks may have a stronger damping rating than the KYB fronts. I couldn't get a definate yes or no as to whether the damping differs from front to rear. Feels fine though 8)

Are you really? Would expect the rates to be higher on the rear as that is where all the weight is. Guess you'll need to get it on a track before you know what it really handles like. Just out of interest why did you do this?

Impatience mainly... 8-[

I bought a set of brand new KYB's through IMOC which were advertised as front's (matter already taken up and dealt with the seller) and bought the rears from Fensport - also brand new. It was only once we had removed the original shocks from the front, did we find out they were wrong
I was tight for time and couldn't get to Fensport to swap the rears I bought off them for front's. Following advice from my mechanic and a couple of other trusty "beardy" type people, we decided to pack out the KYB's as they were only 10mm short (top to bottom). They fitted perfectly otherwise. Comparing them with other MKI's with KYB's fitted, they feel no different, but not tried on track yet. Will be interesting nonetheless.

If I find a big difference, then I will get KYB's intended for the front and swap them over.
